Watching the opening, it occurred to me that those things might happen, but I didn't give it too much thought. Some of it seems inevitable anyway, like Scar vs. Ed haha. I DID wonder about the Bradley fight, since that looks insane in the opening, but I put it to the back of my mind since openings don't always correspond to actual events.

As you said, FMA does a fantastic job of tying various plot points and character arcs together and creating one satisfying team-up. In fact, I would say it's one of the central themes of the show, of how everyone you meet in the journey becomes your strength and support. One of the openings focus on that as well, but that's for a later date. And now, Ling and Lan Fan VS Bradley! With this episode, the 2nd openings' spoilers are now almost completely done (Roy vs Lust, Scar vs Ed rematch with the high-five, etc)... I wonder how much did you realize that you'd been kinda spoiled on that front, or perhaps if the thought registered to you at all. I sure as didn't realize I'd been spoiled by the openings until waaay later I was rewatching the show lol. FMAB's openings are really filled to the brim with spoilers... but a first-time viewer often doesn't realize that, so it works surprisingly well.

I had been watching and reacting to this show alongside you, but after I think episode 17 I couldn't control myself and ended up binging the entire thing in a matter of a few days.
