The AI Voice On Ad-Free Videos

We received a comment through the survey mentioning wishing you could turn off the AI voice on ad-free videos. We want to respect your anonymity... but we also have no idea what is being referred to... and would very much like to know!
So if you were the person who commented about that... if you're comfortable... could you send us a DM here on Patreon explaining what the AI voice is... or sounds like? What it says? We'd love to help troubleshoot this! (And maybe learn what it is in case someone else also has the same issues!)

Phew, okay cool. Yeah for now it'll be an individual opt-out, my team and I need to talk about it and see... if it's something we want to keep. Some people have found it really helpful but others haven't, so we definitely have a decision to make. Thank you for your honesty about it! It helps knowing what things might be hindering user experience!

I live in Germany, but I would prefer to hear the videos in English. As a viewer, I did not find the option to turn that AI-Voice off. But that problem seems to exist only on my smartphone YouTube app. Now, with my computer with the Firefox browser, I can change every video to the original audio track. This option did not exist in my YouTube app. As a creator, only if you want to, you could deactivate this feature for future videos. In Advanced Settings, deactivate the Allow automatic dubbing setting. I now have an option to hear the videos on YouTube without AI-voice. Sorry for the confusion.

2025-06-08 10:41:28 +0000 UTCI noticed that when I try to watch the add free videos on pateron the audio is auto translated to german (since I live in Germany), but I would like to listen normally in english. I have no idea how I can turn it off in pateron , when I listen on YouTube I don't have this problem.
