v.0.12 Progress Report (I)
Added 2023-08-23 07:38:17 +0000 UTCIt's the 4th day of development for v.0.12 and I'm already here with some news.
Since no bugs have been reported so far, I have been able to advance a lot in the update. So far I wrote three mini-scenes (189 renders/2,600 words combined) and render 155 of them. I consider them, combined, as v.0.12's first scene.
I also wrote the intro for the second scene (94 renders/~1,300 words) but I haven't start rendering it.
Thanks to RiamMar, the guy who makes the mod integrated into the game, I have been able to streamline the code a bit more, specially in the choices with/without walkthrough. That means the word count will go down a bit (2-5%) with the same content.
In v.0.11B I already introduced something that reduced considerably the shared lines of code and reduced a lot the development time. Without that change, the shared lines of code would be 2,868 more. Since I introduced it mid-update, there are still 1,644 lines that use the previous system. You can expect the shared code to become almost residual with 200-400 lines per update instead of the 2,000-4,000 that has been the usual in the last updates. That means saving time to do more renders, write more words, and bother you more with progress reports 🤣.
