Mini Watercolor Preview

Hi! Wanted to share a little preview of some of the mini watercolors. They’ll be 5 x 7 in. And feature a unique design per painting. The pricing will be from $20 - $50 depending on complexity, but trying to keep as many in the $20 range as possible!

No promises, but I may make some $10 extra small 5 x 4 in. pieces made from the scraps that came from cutting the other minis.

Goodbye Cigar

Today our rescue horse Cigar was humanely euthanized. In my previous post I outlined his medical issues if you want to get up to date with the specifics.

Unfortunately his condition did not improve. While he was comfortable his best days were only behind him. His urine scalding even on antibiotics was fairly bad and would only get worse once the antibiotics would inevitably stop working. His weight dropped again the second the grass faded. No amount of feed, supplements, and hay was put...

As a thank you I am going to make some mini watercolor paintings available only to patrons. They'll be in a similar format and subject so I can make a lot of them at an economical price. If you missed out or want an affordable original work this would be the perfect opportu...

Covid and the West

I went to the Chicago MCR concert earlier this month and as I was standing in the massive crowd I knew if I wasn't already sick I was going to be sick. The second I got home wouldn't you know it - I got covid. I had a southwest roadtrip planned a week and some change later and I desperately didn't want to miss it, so it was probably the first time ever I've rested so much when sick. By some miracle I did get better in time. Since it was a camping situation, it was easy to isolate even in my s...

Naming Our New Horse and His Diagnosis

Back in late June we adopted a free horse and I made a video introducing him. He came to me from who I now know is a horribly dishonest individual - so his origins are unknown despite the information I gave in the video. All I do know is he came to me emaciated and incontinent, which is a very uncommon issue in horses.

We decided to call him Cigar, Hunter picked it out and I often like using names he picks.

Shortly after his arrival I had the vet out to give him an overall exam ...

June Sketchbook

A rather controversial sketch from my video discussing my dog attack. Many people felt like I didn't have the right to judge an entire breed by my own experience. Others agreed and had their own story to tell about this breed. At the end of the day, it's about responsible ownership and breeding for good characteristics. Often we talk about Pugs and French bulldogs as immoral and cruel to breed for their fl...

May Sketchbook

Many apologies for how late these monthly sketchbook uploads are. I'll be catching up to where we are now, so without further ado - here is May!

I often bring my sketchbook with me when I'm out, even if it doesnt make sense. I had my sketchbook at a bar when visiting Los Angeles and I like to have friends draw in my sketchbook. Here is a little sketch by our friend Spock. 2025-07-18 22:35:10 +0000 UTC View Post

Something Finished Something in Progress

Hello! I’ve been a bit quiet on all my platforms — I’ve been traveling and then got sick. My usual follow up to a good time. I’ll be uploading videos to my YouTube again soon and here are some paintings I’ve been working on. The angus cow is a gift for a local farmer and the horse is using the colors leftover from the angus painting.

I’m hoping to feel better soon and get back to making more 🫡

Duck Season

A little sneak peak of April's sketchbook pages as well as a little life update.

I was not going to hatch any baby chicks or ducks this year since I wanted to focus on garden projects and improving the bird yard and facilities before adding more. BUT... a friend of mine is a member of a community garden in the city. They have a flock of birds of their own and wanted to add ducks to it and asked if I had any. I ended up caving (very easily) because with this I have the excuse of "well, t...

March Wrap Up

It has been a busy month. With the weather getting warmer I've been working to prep my garden this year. I've been hauling in compost to amend my garden beds, fill them up with dirt, and getting plants in the ground before things get hot. The sooner I can plant trees and bushes the better they will adapt and I won't have the baby them as much during the summer. So far I'e planted three blueberry bushes, a new (and third) cherry bush, and a serviceberry tree. Aside from new additions I need to...

Painting Progress

Early photos and progress of my newest painting. This was a long abandoned idea I decided to pick up today. I started with a sketch and some acrylic border on wood panel almost a year ago. So picking it up today I’m painting over it in oil.

The extra limb was added because of a change in pose in the sketch, but the other limb showing through in the sketch seemed like an interesting idea. It plays into the theme for this piece that explores duality.
