AI Slopaganda feat. Ryan Broderick (E319)
Added 2025-04-12 05:48:56 +0000 UTCArtificial Intelligence carries a host of risks: it could reshape jobs and the economy, alter educational practices, help powerful figures dodge accountability through AI-assisted decision-making, and even influence our personal relationships and mental well-being.
But here’s the biggest question: how will AI affect the content filling up your social media feeds?
In today’s episode, journalist Ryan Broderick joins us to discuss the influx of “AI slop” — which increasingly jostles for space alongside human-created content. We’ll explore the “Shrimp Jesus” Facebook phenomenon, a viral (yet entirely fabricated) story about Elon Musk saving a young girl with Neuralink, and the 1995 sci-fi horror film Screamers.

2025-04-23 03:28:20 +0000 UTCI don’t think Johnny Cash was particularly conservative especially by today’s standards

2025-04-21 02:04:15 +0000 UTCKing of the Hill has, to me, been a hilarious satire of what small town life is like. All of the characters have glaring flaws while being "the good guy". I've never thought it was conservative art and I watch the series like once a year! Maybe I'm giving the writers too much credit and I misunderstood it lol

2025-04-20 19:53:08 +0000 UTCProud to not be on any social media, either. All I need is YouTube videos of people playing video games wrong. And lurking on a few select subreddits but who among us doesn’t do that.

2025-04-14 09:52:42 +0000 UTCSo, coincidentally, I've been rewatching King of the Hill recently and pondering its conservative legacy and pop cultural status. My reaffirmed opinion is that it's 100% a conservative satire and still a lovely & wholesome show. By today's conservative standards it is downright idyllic & quaint, I tell ya what.
