Losing Color

I've been struggling a lot since the US election. It's scary how quickly it feels like the color and hope have drained out of life. I want to bring people hope and comfort with my art, but in the face of what feel like much bigger problems and forces than I have any means of fighting, I haven't been able to focus much on art-- which makes me feel even worse, which just keeps the cycle of dark feelings going. I've been carrying this image in my brain for a few weeks, and finally drew it-- not overthinking it or trying to make anything big, just a drawing on a page in my sketchbook-- to try to exorcise some of these feelings.

It's a beautifully expressive piece of work. Look at the lovely parts of your life and world as you know it, block the noise and you'll find there's a lot we can do if we keep redirected away from what upsets us. You've got so much to share.
