iOS store + Patreon app shenanigans.

I STRONGLY recommend you subscribe through the mobile android app or desktop devices.
Patreon isn't willing to fight for us here and seems to be hiding behind creators to tell patrons of this, at least I, as a patron, have never received notice of these changes.
DON'T SIGN UP FOR MEMBERSHIPS USING iOS!

Oh for sure, I doubt they'd be allowed to say that. However I'm pretty sure they are allowed/are required to tell people of the changes to fees on iOS. The whole thing is just handled poorly, its all hand waving and platitudes behind the scenes.

2024-10-14 16:33:55 +0000 UTCios does this for other subscription apps too. they either eat the loss from keeping prices the same across apps, or take the loss by refusing to work with the biggest distributor (apple). either way i suspect their contract prevents them from outright telling apple users "subscribe on desktop/android"
