Hey everyone.
I want to say sorry for the slow month, I definitely feel like I've let you all down with the slow progress lately :(
I've got an important write up about quality vs quantity, I was going to put it in this post but it was getting too long so I'll post that on its own later some time.
Just wanted to drop a quick update, this month has been a bit rough for multiple reasons; I've been sick, nothing serious like covid or anything but still bad enough that is has affected productivity.
Second I got caught up in commission work that took way longer than I expected, I've decided for the next month I won't be doing any commission work because it has constantly put my on the backfoot with my patreon stuff and that isn't what I want to happen, nothing fun about having to rush both patreon and commission stuff. Ultimately I'd like to get to the point where I don't need to take on commission work but that isn't quite here yet, so it is a necessary evil right now.
Third is my geomorph tiles I've been making assets for, I've posted the asset brushes I've made so far for the tiles and learned a lesson in how fuuucking long it takes to make assets, because it isn't just drawing them, there is a lot of non art stuff that goes into them -.- BUT even though it is a lot of upfront work it'll pay off in the long run. I thought this would be a much quicker project I could get done in a week or so before my next normal map release... nope, lesson learned. I need to make the ground tiles and elevation assets too, and probably some bushes/trees.
I'm going to be working on an Astral spelljammer map in collab with another creator and good friend for the next release, they are making a Spidership and I'm going to be making a cool map for it. After that I've got a really cool idea for Swordtember that I seriously hope I can pull off.
