I just think if Sony is using 2 Zen6LP Cores for an OS that is going to be magnitudes lighter than whatever Xbox is doing with its Xbox windows OS, 3 Zen6 cores seems right actually. I mean, they will definitely be doing quick resume again, they potentially have quick resume cross over with Steam, Epic, etc. we know that Xbox will be even more aggressive with ads running constantly all over the dashboard. I mean where else will they get recurring revenue from next gen? We also know that Xbox doesn't really have a power budget. I mean what else could they be for considering they would need to be compatible with the PC code of games. I mean correct me if I'm wrong, but If you want the big cores to handle 'X' task and the C cores to handle 'Y' the game would need to be coded to do that. Like with Intel, the P cores are for games and e cores background. You can't have a couple e cores jump over and do a gaming task if it isn't needed for background tasks at the moment can you without a dev needing to program it specifically in the game, right? And then you would also need to tell the system that you currently can't multitask while this particular game is running. I think Xbox wants to basically have multiple games running simultaneously that you can tab between instantly. Xbox has no clue how people actually game

I think the NVIDIA Shield question was about the Shield TV. After that handheld thing and tablet both went nowhere they reused the name shield on an android TV set-top box. It got the Tegra X1 yields that were too bad for Nintendo afaik and it’s still kind of the goat for self-hosted media streaming, because it has very wide audio format support. It is still getting updates, recently received support for Auro3D Audio, but the X1 is getting very long in the tooth by now. General performance is getting slower of course, but limitations like Maxwell only decoding VP9 8-bit mean that it can’t do YouTube HDR. I’ve been looking to replace mine for a while now, but basically just want what I have with more newer hardware inside.
