In most other scenarios, Kess would be right that the audience prefer cuter concepts but on Produce 48 you have Korean trainees and Japanese idols competing together. Unless you’re a famous trainee, you’re not going to have established fans. Almost all the AKB girls have fans who are going to vote for them no matter what and since the AKB girls almost never promote outside of Japan, these performances would be the only opportunities for Korean AKB fans to see them live without having to visit Japan.

I was literally yelling at my phone “cuz you told them tooooo” 😂 I’m sure Sakura would have done much better if she had practiced that part from the start, but she didn’t know any Korean at the time so I don’t think she would have been the best rapper anyway. I feel like either way the other team was just gonna fit the song more because they’re full of such energetic people. I wish sakura’s team had gotten peekaboo though cuz I think they would’ve done great at that song

2023-11-06 10:32:15 +0000 UTCChiba Erii has admitted that she didn't know she was going to Korea to be on the show. She said she found out after she landed and had her phone taken. She was still in middle school at the time. It makes me wonder if there were others in the same boat. It has come out before that some contestants were told more info and of course it's been proven there were some behinds the scenes deals happening with different companies. But anyways it makes me wonder if some girls were less serious because they didn't quite know what they were getting into.
