Michelle (for sure on my top 3 since i took a camera for the first time).
As you can see, this was shot with hard light (2pm) and not really taking care of sun position or shadows. I move around the model as for me is always more about mood and feeling than actual light position. During my years traveling for photo sessions I had to compromise finding the perfect time of the day for productivity. I literally have to shoot at any time of the day at locations I have never seen before, so little advice... forget golden light, forget sunrise or not going somewhere a specific day... Go, explore a bit, get the model into the right mindset and shoot.
In addition to the video one pic where my "assistant" was trying to put some visual sense to the sand under her on that complicated position. I never work with assistants, never use reflectors or modifiers, never light on location, but that time I really wanted to minimize the amount of time she was holding the pose, so I asked the guy who drove us to give a hand. He was also the one taking the Videos
Location is El Matador Beach in Malibu. Totally worth the drive from Los Angeles city.
