Welcome to the one-hundredth-and-seventy-eighth episode of the Hidden Details blog!
Have you found some obscure reference or detail in this comic? A JoJo reference? A sneaky little Loss? A callback to a previous comic? Let us know what you've found in the comments! Every detail that has been found will be added to the list below. Once everything has been found, this comic will officially be marked with "all details found".
Link to the comic for your convenience
Please only comment with ONE hidden detail or reference!
There's one Loss, one Balthazar, one Miep and one crewmate. Bonus comics don't count.
1: I don't count the sole fact that Link is left-handed in this comic, but I do want to point out that I made sure that Link is fighting as a leftie throughout the comic, A Sad Fat Dragon with No Friends! He is even using his dominant (left) eye in the fourth panel!
2: In the first panel, we can see some sparkly leaves in the background, once again indicating the presence of a Korok, as mentioned by Calvin Barbanell!
3: If you look very closely, you can see Hestu chilling next to a palm tree in the first panel.
4: Those seagulls in the second panel are one of many Wind Waker references in this comic. In that game, seagulls (that look exactly like the ones I drew here) often fly along with you when you're sailing. Glad you noticed that, Brandon Digwood!
5: Up until the very end, all the dialogue in this comic is ripped straight from the actual game. Except for Bolson asking what that shape approaching the shore is, of course.
6: All the enemies are in the actual quest in Tears of the Kingdom. Although I don't know if they scale with your power level, Daniel Myhre. I based them on the ones I encountered on my save in any case.
7: All those weapons are also findable/lootable in Lurelin village. And I highly recommend using fan weapons or bouncy weapons to drown the Bokoblins, just like Link is doing in the fourth panel, as mentioned by Lord Circe!
8: Apparently, Miep is chilling in the crows' nest of the Bokoblin ship in the third panel. Glad you noticed her tail, Spirit of Gotham!
9: The one Bokoblin hiding underground in the fifth panel is also atually there in the game. Apparently, a lot of people had a hard time finding this final Bokoblin in the Lurelin quest. Thanks for pointing that out, Fighting Master.
10: This week's crewmate is visible in one of the brands on the crates in the seventh panel. Found by Cameron Devera.
11: In the same panel, Baltablup (that's a good name for him, Generic Hero!) is watching Bolson and Link from behind a log!
12: This week's loss is visible in the very last panel: it's hidden in the flag in the background, as mentioned by Trigger once again!
13: I'll count it, Friendly Ace! All three Links (although we weren't able to see Young Link) are wearing the starter outfit from post-upheaval Tears of the Kingdom.
Next week around this time, I'll reveal all the details. The ones that have not been found will be marked italic.
