Concept
This format places the animation in the centre, as in Paizuri Heaven.
I found that it made it easier to focus on key areas, not only for vertical animations, but also for regular 16:9 animations.
I also found that with a horizontal beat bar, you have to look at the whole screen, whereas with a vertical beat bar, your eyes move less and it is easier to focus on the animation.
