Be glad there making do while his not in LA?

Ivy Gardiner

That was really confusing me as well. Maybe he meant Sin City?

Andy Pederson

He even put references to it in the Snyder Cut Justice League!

Jerry Li

I saw this in the IMAX theater when it came out and i must say that reading these comments is so refreshing. i am brown and none of my white friends understood why i thought the movie was so offensive at the time. I'm glad it is more transparent these days.

The whole story is being told by the dude missing an eye to pump up the Greek army at the end. The reason there are monsters and vampires and stuff is because the storyteller is being a sensationalist to pump the army up.

Corey nunn

the depiction of a mixed race persian army was supposed to represent the different kingdoms that were conquered and were forced to fight for xerox or what ever his name was

Bing Bong

The Topo Chico hard seltzers are the best product to come out of the hard seltzer craze, in my opinion

Samantha Snow

Why did Kowalick keep saying Death Proof is related to this? Death Proof is a Tarantino movie with no relation to Frank Miller. I wonder if he meant The Spirit.

I really don't see how people find "political" meanings in a film like this... It's just a classic story of a small, brave white military state defending itself from an invading hoard of brown, barely human, monsters who have weird sexual practices and threaten the Spartan way of life. So what if it was written by a sort of fascist comic book guy? So what if it came out at the height of the War on Terror, when brown people were demonized in order to sell a fraudulent war? So what if the US portrays Middle Eastern people - and Iranians in particular - as blood-thirsty villains, while it continues to bomb and starve people in the region for oil and military power? So what if Zach Synder keeps making movies about Ubermensch heroes who can't operate under the moral strictures of society and should be celebrated for extreme, gratuitous violence? It's just a movie, people!

Deena

The politics were definitely on purpose. Snyder's next film was supposed to be The Fountainhead. All of his movies are filled with Randian bullshit.

Matt Selman is the exception to this rule

Doughboys! Where even the worst guest is great.

Very much a pupcorn movie 👍

How can Wiger eat an ice cream sandwich sloppier than any other human being? I’m genuinely curious.

Matt Southard

The Queen subplot was added because otherwise without the slow-motion it would've been 70 minutes long and they wanted something for the female side at home to do. It's not a great movie, tho i've never liked any Zack Snyder movie--but this is his best sadly

Jeffrey Loh

People started to turn on Snyder around the time of Watchmen/Sucker Punch if I'm not mistaken. Rightfully so for Sucker Punch.

Brandon Cardenas

Considering it’s based on a Frank Miller comic, all of that is really par for the course.

Joe

Yeah it was pretty brutal. And the "Persians" are depicted as decadent and like there's an undertone that they mix cultures and that's bad. Not to mention the homophobia in a movie that's very homoerotic. It's wild.

JN

Now I want to see the 301 movie.

El Chingon

I watched 300 in the theaters and couldn’t get past the blatant racism. Just about anyone who isn’t “pure” were monsters or had some deformity. The guy who betrays the Spartans was half Persian and thus couldn’t fight with his people. I know it was meant to be a fantasy style retelling but whatever

Drew

The buzz on Mitch's mic is driving me crazy
