My Yandere Maid is Obsessed with Me: Chapter 2

Melody

I can’t help but have the smuggest face as I look at the interaction between my Ryu and the skank from some kingdom. He will be mine even if I have to kill everyone in this world. Of course I would spare at least his mother because she was the one who gave me this opportunity.

A few years ago…

My life had officially hit rock bottom. All of my loved ones were killed off because of my father’s actions. I was barely able to survive as he gave his life for mine. I ran as hard as I could into the darkness of the night as I heard swords clashing and the screaming of those who would never see the morning.

Our family was one in the shadows, and when something went wrong, it went to complete shit. On a daily basis we dealt with the scum of the city because we're the best assassins in the kingdom; that’s at least what my father always boasted about.

One of our higher-profile jobs went completely sideways, and my father took full responsibility. To tie up loose ends, everyone who was involved, even their families, was forfeit.

I had been trained since the age of five to be a ruthless assassin. Going through the harshest training anyone could have imagined dulled my senses and created a perfect killer. My very first present was a short sword that my father had me practicing with the very next day.

The first life I ever took was at the age of seven, and it was forced upon me by my father to prove I had what it took to follow in his footsteps. As time went by, I took more and more lives as my sense of reality started to weaken.

I became nothing more than a shell full of killing intent, which he was hoping for all along. Each one of my siblings also went through the same training, and my eldest brother even lost his life on his very first job. The tasks our family would receive were no joke, with a lot of danger.

There was no room for emotions that would hinder the progress of a job. For a long time I forgot what it was even like to smile. At the age of ten, I would take a life every few days, getting ready to go out on my very own missions without my father’s guidance.

By the time I reached the age of fourteen, I had become a lethal killing machine. I even surpassed my father with how well and efficiently I could kill. But he never gave me any congratulations. He would just give me a nod after I gave him my report.

This was the same year our family would be completely wiped out. My father saw me as the future and wanted to ensure my escape so all his hard work wouldn’t be lost. I personally had no real love for the man, so I left without a word or reservation.

I walked the streets for weeks, having a hard time even trying to find a meal, my way of life stripped from me. What could an emotionless assassin at the age of fourteen do for money? Even if I tried taking hits once again on the powerful nobles, I would probably just end up getting backstabbed like my family.

That was until one rainy day, as I sat there getting soaked, someone who would forever change my life walked up to me. He placed his hand on my chin and raised it up to look him straight in the eye.

“You’re beautiful.” They were the first words out of his mouth.

My whole body shook, and at the same time, I became completely silent as I stared at the boy. What is this feeling? Something I’ve never felt before, not even with my family. His big smile and happy appearance sparked a strong reaction within me.

“Come with me.” He said, grabbing my hand and pulling me out of the rain. I just went along with him because of the fact I couldn't care less about my life at this point.

We sat down on a bench that was out of the rain. I suddenly felt soft cotton touch my skin, and it felt very warm. I looked back at the boy and noticed he took off his jacket, giving it to me.

“I hope that makes you feel warmer.” He once again smiled.

“Why?” I said with chattering teeth at the sudden coldness I felt before it got much warmer.

He then hugged me, sparking more emotions firing off within my body than in my past fourteen years of life. “Because I felt like you needed a hug.”

Before I could say thank you or even get his name, someone pulled him away and forced him to leave. The last thing I remember was his waving hand as he was pulled to a carriage. I stuck my hands in one of the pockets and found a pouch of more gold than I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t believe it. Why would he do something like this for me?

My willingness to live was reignited as I took the next few weeks tracking him down. Once I found out that he was one of the princes, I couldn’t believe it. I used the gold he had given me to equip myself with the weapons and gear I would need.

I started shadowing him from that day forward as his own personal guard. There was no one else who was willing to protect him. The maids talked a lot, and that’s where I got most of my information. It seemed like his mother was forced into a marriage with the king.

Since the child never amounted to anything as offered in the arranged marriage, they were thrown to the annex to live in isolation. When I saw the boy once again after our interaction, he wasn’t smiling brightly anymore.

He and his mother had almost no maids willing to help them because of no guarantee they would even stick around with how looked down upon they were. You can’t survive in the castle if you choose the wrong side, so it’s in their best interest to stay away.

It didn’t take too long before I had to take action. Only a month into my shadowing, I found multiple assassins trying to enter the annex. Without even thinking, I killed all three of them with no hesitation. Right at that moment I saw the one who was the boy’s mother staring at me.

I was scared stiff at being seen, but she didn’t say anything besides giving me a nod. She went back inside and comforted her son.

This took place multiple times over the next year, and each time I would make eye contact with his mom, who would always give her appreciation. There were even occasions when she would come find me, offering food or gold.

All she ever said was, “Please take good care of my son.” Until the day she offered me an opportunity to serve him, something I couldn't refuse!

His mother asked me to join her in the study, where she laid it all out for me. I was being given the opportunity to be his personal maid and protector if I chose to accept that role.

“You have feelings for my son, don’t you?” She said to me as I stiffened. “It’s alright if you do because that makes this even better.”

“It does?” I asked, not understanding.

“Yes, you will be a much better guard than anyone in this castle with how strong I expect your feelings to be towards him. But you cannot act upon them until it’s time.” Her words were stern.

“What do you mean? Also, could I actually be with a prince?” I asked quizzically.

“He is very special, and I will only be in this world for a few more years. I suppressed the power within him upon his birth, but before he awakens, he must leave this castle.”

I looked at her dumbfounded. “Awakening?”

“That’s right; my side of the family has a special innate ability. That’s why I was forced into this marriage and why now Ryu is shunned.”

I had learned very recently that his name was Ryu and cemented that fact into my mind. But, wow, so he’s much more special than I could even imagine.

“Why not just run?” I suggested.

“Impossible, it would be much better for the both of you to run as soon as I die. It might seem selfish, but I want to spend my last days with him. He has plenty of time until he awakens on his eighteenth birthday.” Her shoulders fell as tears started to drop.

I couldn’t help but feel there was more to it as to why she wouldn’t run away than she let on. But if she was giving me what I truly wanted, who was I to dig any further?

“I understand!” I blurted it out as I saw a slight smile break through her sadness.

“I’m sorry, but I will need your services before I die from all the possible threats that could come in the future.” Those were her last words before I would swear on my life to protect Ryu.

Not being able to reveal these feelings that have been developing inside me all this time to the person I've come to love so deeply was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Especially when he keeps flirting with me on a daily basis, all I could do was rely on my training and try not to give in too much. But that was an insurmountable goal; I would rather storm a castle and attempt to kill a king than avoid these bubbling-up feelings.

It didn’t take long for him to start showing his affection towards me either, maybe six months? He then had me start to bathe him in the nude, and this was extremely hard not to just jump him right there. Even while dressing, he would be at full mast. He even asked if he could rub my feet, which was weird, but I saw no reason to decline.

Over the years I’ve been with him, multiple girls have tried to win his favor. All of them obviously had something to gain by marrying one of the princes. I had overheard one of those women mention how she would annul the engagement as soon as they could make contact with the crown prince.

They were just using Ryu for a chance to get into the castle and get with the much more appealing male in the family. What surprised me even more was when he would leave the room and I would stay for the reason of listening to these girls bullshit; they would keep talking. I was but a fly on the wall to them as they said their true feelings right in front of me about Ryu.

Let’s just say that none of them made it home alive. I’m pretty sure Ryu suspected me but would never say anything. He knew quite early on that I had skills in the art of killing because of the attacks that would come on the regular.

Standing there beside Ryu as I look down at the next bitch that entered the castle, I couldn’t help but want to slit her throat just as the ones before her. Especially the maids, who were complete trash, not knowing when they should or shouldn't speak, I’ve taken my anger out on more than one of them over my time here, and they usually don't survive. How dare they mock Ryu!

As I was staring daggers into this stupid girl across from me, I heard Ryu speak. “Melody, sit.” He said in a commanding tone that only got me excited. Outwardly I sighed, but inwardly I was so happy he was going to show his affection for me in front of this bitch. He’s mine, and you’re trying to take him away from me! I thought as I casually sat on his lap to the surprise of everyone in the room.

My arms wrap around his neck as I look at the girl wanting to speak. “But… she’s just your maid! A commoner, someone like you, can never have a relationship with her!” She said with vitriol.

I suddenly felt my cheeks get pushed together from both sides. “Just look at how cute she is; I don’t need anyone else, sorry.” Ryo said as he kissed my cheek, making the one not needed here go crazy.

“Well, I’ve never been so obviously looked down upon in all my life.” She threw her teacup at me, but I easily parried it to the side with my finger.

“Well, beautiful, should we go get knocked up?” Ryu said to me with a grin.

“Maybe… later...” I said it casually, but at the same time I kept repeating yes in my head over a thousand times.
