Bloodlines...
Added 2025-10-19 15:30:03 +0000 UTCThere isn't much to update you on for this week, other than I will most likely be a bit more distracted than usual. Don't worry, still in my workflow and also back to rendering random artwork to improve my lightwork skills (and big butt shaping skills :D) you can see above :).
As you might know Shadow over Blackmore is inspired by a lot of different things, and one of them is the World of Darkness, particulary the Vampire: Masquerade tabletop game.
I played the Pen and Paper and also I played the video game, Bloodlines. In fact I sometimes still play it today, there is an awesome community around the game that makes fan patches and stuff (the game was a buggy mess when it was released...maybe I took some inspiration from that as well :D).
So after all these years in development hell, Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2 will come out in 2 days...and while the reviews are mixed, I still have high hopes that they nail the athmosphere of a modern gothic vampire game...for some more inspiration for future Blackmore :D.
Itch.io seems to finally adress the bot issue which is a good thing and I am already at the stage where I have to decide how much I want to spoiler/show you about the next update of Day 5...because I really want to but it would also ruin the surprise...we'll see ;)

yea it isn't good, unfortunetly...had to see it for myself, though. wasted potential everywhere you look in this game :(

2025-10-22 12:39:27 +0000 UTCI can’t see that new vtm being good, no studio really has enough stones, or brains to nail the tight rope that classic vampire stories walk. The balance between horror, and allure isn’t something i think modern writers can navigate. As well the goth vibe seems to have been totally lost in the second game from what I’ve seen, everything looks to young adult in design something you’d seen on a cw show.

2025-10-20 04:17:40 +0000 UTCSpeaking about Vampire. I remember that I loved the music video „What is love“ of Haddaway when I was young. Especially the vampire lady and her outfit. 😀 I can understand that you like to show some stuff on the one hand but don’t want to ruin the surprise on the other hand. I am really excited how it will go on and to know everything, but I would prefer to wait and see what happens during the game.
