Apartment news: Turned out they didn't need a notice prior to 60 days, but within 60 days. Their renewal letter was a bit confusing. Nevertheless, I got the form to tell them I won't be renewing. Couple things stuck out in my mind when I went to get the form. For one, it seemed like other people were scoffing at huge rent increases, as apparently she had to have a meeting on an earlier date about it, resulting in the front manager to instead lower the increase of rent to only $50 a month instead of the $230. Maybe it happened, maybe it was just a way to get me to renew right then and there. Who knows. The other odd thing was that it turned out the "annual fire extinguisher inspection" was not meant for ALL the apartments but just the front office and common areas like the laundry rooms. This makes the company who the apartment was paying a service to keep apartment fire extinguishers up to date to remove them from the apartments even weirder. Months ago when I asked about it I was told that they were simply going to refuel it and bring it back but never did. Not only that, but she more or less confirmed ALL the apartments had their fire extinguishers removed. When I asked when they were coming back she had no clue what happened to them or if they're even coming back at all. My suspicions tells me that someone up the chain decided to revoke a contract with the company in charge with the fire extinguishers. Nevertheless, I already got my new apartment locked down, so I take this as a sign that I'm making the right choice in getting the fuck out of here. Damn shame since I liked the location and had lived here for 8 years. Oh well. I plan to have another pay what you want stream to get some funds to help with the move as I'll be hiring movers this go around as having a family of teachers means none of them are available come end of August when I'll be moving. Not sure if I'll do it beforehand or after I move and get settled in. I'm going to bring back the Bodysuit 23 anniversary stream for its 10th anniversary this year, so I'm debating whether to kill two birds with one stone and have that stream be for both of them or have them as two entirely separate streams. When I decide on what to do I'll let y'all know!
