Update 02/24 - It is time to KILL

AY

Alfabusa is NOT writing this one it is me Earndil yet again because Alfa is currently deep in the borax mines so we can improve the strength of our aluminum alloys.

Apologies for the lack of updates, as Alfa is the only one who has access and sometimes hE FORGETS TO DO IT OR ASK SOMEONE TO WRITE THE UPDATE BEAT HIM WITH POOL NOODLES NOW!!!

Running down the general list of things, how about the video essay that was released last week?

Being a totally new format of thing we haven't tried before, we weren't quite sure what to expect from it, but generally I think the response has been positive!

We have been getting scattered reports, however, of Youtube sabotaging some of our viewers sub feeds, and not showing it.
Typical Youtube system issues, eh?
In spite of this, it's been going over pretty well, and we are pleased with the turnout.

On the topic of the essay, how did you all like it? (if you watched it, of course)
Positive responses have been very high, but if there's anything constructive that can be offered on how it was done, that'd be equally as appreciated.
While it'd be nice to get others to share their (hopefully) coherent thoughts on any tabletop settings, these do take time to assemble, and that's time taken away from the animation and production of our mainline stuff, so it'd have to be worth it first and foremost.

On the topic of other experiments, the various session zeroes for SpeakerD's Mage: The Ascension game are underway!

We plan to release these first on Patreon and YouTube, likely in simple audio format, so we can get a general consensus from you, the PAYERS OF BILLS, as to how you like it (should you be interested in joining us in this endeavour).

Once we get everything together we'll likely release them much later to the clamoring public, bearing in mind these will still have a decent amount of editing, and will not simply be us playing Da Game.

These session zeroes will be covering the Awakenings of our various characters as they leap headfirst into the very same universe that Hunter: The Parenting takes place in, and so far two have already interacted.

While we have a general feel for how our characters are going to interface with each other, it's still quite early.
But Hulky, Zoran, Odo, and I (you may be familiar with us from our Narrative Declaration work on Rotgrind and WarHams) are interested to see where Speaker intends to take us.

However, for those of you interested, Hulky's character has an ape companion, so that's pretty cool. I HATE him and I want him to DIE.

In Mage: The Ascension, I mean.

And finally the topic of Zero Viscosity Episode 2!
I've been examining the work that gets posted in the production chat (I myself am not a video editor, nor do I have the time to contribute much beyond administrating), and as was the case with HTP Chapter 3, I think this is going to be a serious watershed moment for our quality.

Work proceeds at pace, but slowly, considering the sheer volume of work going into this one.

Karl and a newly incorporated Dr. White (you remember him, no doubt, from his exceptional Alfa Legion Chat Videos of which he is incredibly proud and powerful (hello this is Alfabusa at the behalf of White coming in to add a note that this is sarcasm please do not watch the Alfa Legion Chat Videos please please please dont they are bad)) have been taking over two parts of the project, and we have acquired the remaining voicelines for the episode..

Art production remains the primary focus, but we have enough now that we can actually begin animating shortly, so that's really good.

As for a release date, regrettably we're still a ways off owing to the general production roadblock that was the latter part of the winter of 2022, and January of this year (I swear to god everyone in Sweden just gets sick at the same time in high volumes to prank us).

However even in spite of the heavy waves of sickness, they powered through, and are hard at work on ZV EP2, and you'll hear more as time progresses.

I believe that's all I need to scream at you about today, now if you'll excuse me, Alfa is trying desperately to get me to increase my Fishing skill in WoW Classic so he doesn't have to do so alone, and he is incredibly proud that I fished up an achievement fish on one of my first few swings of the pole.

Have a Poppeng rest of your day! OR DON'T.

Until next time, have a good one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh! I love Earndil the inheritor, one of my favorite members of the crew!

:D *Beats you with pool noodle*

IllogicalLogic

Earndil .. I keep thinking about them.... bless your soul.

MorningCock

Where is this essay?

Daniel Berry

Anybody figured out what the posted still with the update is yet? If we guess before the episode it’s from comes out do we get a prize?

JeanWorm

The video essay was fantastic. I had originally thought you were gonna go into details about the vampire clans, antideluvians, etc. But going into the background of the games themselves was a great idea, 10/10. It makes sense to keep the audience as much in the dark as possible, because THEN you can do shit like diablerizing vampires and WE don't know its bad until BIG D tells us it is. Looking forward to whatever you guys have next.

Zephyr444

Alfabusa is actually every single member of ogre poopenfarten and can mimic many different voices like that dude from scooby doo

Sal Monella

thank you for the update. The same sickness thing has happened In the USA, from late Jan through feb this year. Everyone seems to have caught this HELL COUGH that somehow isn’t covid but lays them up for about a week give or take a few days.

Electro_Static

Its easy to notice and report the negative, but for some users YouTube loves your channel

Fluffer

As for YouTube sabotaging some sub feeds, I think it goes the other way around too based on the user. I had the essay on TOP of my feed and under EVERY video as the "Watch next" even prioritized over next episodes of a series for two days straight until I found the time to sit down and watch it

Fluffer

I found the essay both informative and accurate, and have popped it off to several of my curious friends!

Trevor Bond

Yeah I didn't see the video essay in my feed, I'll go watch it now

Honestly, I've already rewatched the video essay two or three times because it's just so fun and interesting, so I'm not sure I can say anything other than incoherent praise on that front? And thanks to that, I'm definitely looking forward to the Mage game! And now I'm so tempted to watch those Alfa Legion videos...

Blue

I very much enjoyed the video essay and would love to see more! Especially on my favorite gamelines, Mage and Changeling. I am uber excited to hear about a Mage game being recorded as well!

MolluskMan

I LOVED the video essay and I would be very happy to see videos diving into the other games, my favorite being Technocracy. Having just done a Crossover game I am very excited to see your next essay.

Artrean Talesofabard

I very much enjoyed the video essay, and I will need to watch it again while being a little more attentive, because the simple animations add a LOT to the content. I'm not sure I'll watch the campaign videos (time is the biggest issue), but I hope they go well, and go over well. :)

Hariman

Oh I never got the essay. Checking on it now!

LOVED the video essay

Jane Sullivan

The Alfa Legion videos are a thing of Beauty. I will eat those that think otherwise.

SemperShpee

It was dope

Fantastic Essay that made me wanna relive my Mage Character. looking forward to your content for the system

I genuinely loved the essay. The animations, the passion, and the humor were on point and actually got me to purchase a book of Hunter. Gonna be doing a session zero with friends this weekend!

George Campbell

{beats Alfa with pool noodles}

The essay was a joy to watch, and very informative since I actually didn't know about the mage, fey and spectre aspects of WoD. I am actually super curious now to see someone run a spectre campaign or see you guys cover it more, because I am a sucker for that kind of narrative potential. The animation was also just *chefs kiss* in the essay; the smoothness and expression visible with SpeakerDs arms and face, along with the hilarious cuts that emphasized the jokes. I will always love the little detective just waddling his legs towards the eldritch horror. Keep up the amazing work yall!

Cottonbonbon

Video Essay was fantastic. I request more, covering a range of topics to be put to the vote later.

JohnnyOrc

First off: distributes pool noodles for Alfa beatings. That video essay was AMAZING. My experience with WoD was tangential at best, only a little exposure to Vampire and Hunter before you guys launched HTP. That essay got me stoked to look into things more, and the quality was amazing. I would suggest working on more in the future, but only one at a time, and narrated by the one of you most into the topic (I recommend pool noodles at ten paces to determine this) I'm excited to hear we're getting more ttrpg shenanigans soon, and all I can say to you Earndil is GIVE SPEAKER A TASTE OF HIS OWN

Maxin the Dragon

I shall give the smelly cheese to the Earendil, pat a smol SpeakerD on the head for his very informative essay, and will look forward to any others he so chooses to release, throw a rock at Alfabusa and demand he mines more productively (the damn pasty faced git) and eagerly await this new campaign release.

shrubby1989

Love the content that's been brewing, and the video essay was pretty fantastic. The WoD rabbithole is nothing but fascinating, with the combination of fantastic storytelling and well drawn but still silly animations, I could seriously see this becoming a celebrated classic series with a dedicated cult following at the very least.

I really liked the video essay, was curious about the World of Darkness for a while now and the way your video was written and presented was entertaining and informative. Would definitely like more and am also curious about this eventual Mage: The Ascension game in the Hunter: The Parenting-verse. I liked the Warhams TTRPG in you guy's setting of WH40K and am enjoying the Rotgrind and Goons games, so I'm sure it'll be fun!

Risax the Imp

I thought that I was done DMing. I didn't want to DM again. I was sure that I never would again. And then that DAMNED HIGH QUALITY VIDEO ESSAY HAPPENED!!!

Eve Mizgala

Mage good, yes.

The Sage Pilgrim

Essay good, yes.

The Sage Pilgrim

Love the video essay!

Skye Lee

I loved the video essay, and you folks had perfect timing, because I'd already planned out a Hunter: The Reckoning campaign for my group for the next few months.

Gorbash

I absolutely loved the video essay, and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of animation that went into it. Not only informative, but very entertaining!

Super existed about WoD stuff. I am not feeling the Half-Life related projects though. Good luck wtoh everything!

Hubert Wójcik

I really liked the video essay, but it felt a bit rambling. You could fit more information in a 50 min video.

Eyyyyyyy nice! Hope you guys are doing well
