Hail and Well Met.
Oh. Hello.
What's going on with you?
I saw a mudcrab the other day, horrible little creatures.
STOP TALKING ALREADY
Bye.
Good day!
Hello everyone it's me Earndil again,
writing this week's update because regretfully Alfa has been sequestered to his toilet while his guts revolt against him due to illness (quite a lot of illness in Sweden lately).
He has been spending most of his time travelling between toilet and bed, which while understandable, has definitely slowed production a bit.
However, he is hard at work phasing back into reality while the rest of our animation crew (so, Karl and Garrot) keep things underway!
On the topic of production, we have a few announcements regarding our upcoming Audiodrama release.
The first and foremost of which is that work proceeds, while slower, still at pace despite Alfa's sickness, and we project an early December release for the first part of it.
Now, on that statement the SECOND part of this announcement is that we are intending on releasing the upcoming Audiodrama in two parts!
Why is this?
Partly because we believe it is sufficiently large enough to do so, partly because it accidentally came with a perfectly paced cut-off point that almost seems intentional if it weren't for the fact that it wasn't, and also because we would like to at least keep you all entertained with SOMETHING while work proceeds.
We are also confident that you will enjoy it.
Work also is proceeding on the next episode of Half-Life: Zero Viscosity, of which we have a great number of panels from the storyboard prepared and ready, but many more to still do, as well as animating, getting voicework, and other neccessities.
In all honestly, progress on the voicework and art in particular has been particularly slow with this one because of the budget issues, but come next month we reckon that'll be immediately resolved thanks to your incredible power and might.
This one in particular we feel will be particularly interesting, especially from a dynamism perspective (we had support from a professional storyboarder who goes by the username COCKPUNCHER3, who is really cool and who has provided us with a great deal of fascinating work) which should result in a very cool end product.
This being said, expect it next year as we still have a great deal of work to do before we can say we're even half-way done with it.
Finally, onto you guys, the people who supported us in our hour of need, the people who came out in fucking DROVES to provide us with funding, no matter how temporary some of it may be.
We want to show you all how much we appreciate your support, financial, morale or otherwise, and with that I have been working with Alfa and the rest to figure out some good ways to keep up transparency with you all.
We want you all to know where your funds are being spread, to what ends they are being spent, and the people who you are helping to keep at this great and potent task.
Next month, the process of looking over our new budget and paying back the IOUs will start up.
Having been stuck over the past few months in this nightmarish bureaucratic morass where ending up with a fiscal minus, whatever the fuck that truly even means, is regarded as a fate worse than death...
Suffice to say, being lifted out of it is an incredible boon.
But, it's important that we actually remain outside of it, and so, we must be extremely careful to not overspend, and keep a strict budget going forward, especially as we definitely expect this current, obscene level of support to dwindle as economic situations fluctuate.
Our hope is to earn the ability to stabally remain as we are without having to pester you any more than neccesary, through a solid amount of releases and persistent quality in our work.
To that end, the goal for next year, after we reorganize and start getting back on track, is to be more open and honest with you all about where things are going, you deserve that information for all your help in keeping Ogre Poppenang alive and well.
Until then... Thank you.
Sincerely, and wholeheartedly, Thank you.
A great many of us consider this a dream job, and while it is not something we all can adequately live off of, we are keen to keep going, through thick and thin.
We want to succeed as much as you want us to, and we want to entertain you as much as you all want to be entertained.
CO-DEPENDENCY.
To wit, if any of you have any insights on how YOU would like us to keep you aware of how your money is being spent, please leave a comment detailing your ideas below!
We've got some plans, but you guys are the ones who benefit, so it'd be great to get some ideas from you all as well!
Until next we meet, this has been Earndil, filling in for disease riddled husk Alfabusa.
Have a Poppeng rest of your days, and Happy Thanksgiving from yesterday (if you are an americanist).
Now go listen to Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant" in honor of that holiday.
DO IT.
Until next time, have a good one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
