Update 06/10 - Half-Life: Zero Viscosity and HTP Audiolog Progress

AY

Update time from Alfabusa me I!

This day, we have been stuck in the mid-production swamp of all our works, and so, we don't have much juicy stuff to really reveal as of yet. But I shall try my darndest to make something interesting out of this.

Hunter: The Parenting

On the HTP front, you may have noticed we released our latest audiolog in a more awkward timeslot than usual. It was meant to be released significantly earlier, but the immense size of that particular log overpowered me and I was simply not able to release it in due time.

However, it is out now and I am so happy to have gotten it out. It was quite the experimental one, but I feel the experiment was a success as the reception has been stunning for a script we wrote VERY quickly. You see, we were actually meant to released ANOTHER Audiolog as our third one, but then we realised, oh damn, this third one doesn't address the whole police situation that ended Chapter 3 whatsoever!

So, we wrote the Interrogation one quite fast to fill that hole and it worked out, past the fact that it was released a bit late.

But now, we're actually going full steam ahead on this fourth Audiolog. The graphics up-top are actually going to be used in that particular Audiolog, couldn't help but post them, Inktooth and Karl did a fantastic job on drawing and animating them respectively.

This fourth one focuses on the family taking care of their sixth family member, Horse, who is sick with some mysterious disease that has him vomit profuse amounts of blood.

As they all take turns tending to Horse, they all start talking about their worldly woes at the ever-attentive equine. We will learn more about each character, as they all confess something or other to their sickly brother Horse.

Half-Life: Zero Viscosity

So, on the HLZV side, we have just finished the second and almost finalized draft of the audio, and the art for the video is close to complete as well.

We're also having a new intro and outro designed by RudeRubicante, who made the stellar intro in EP1 of Hunter and the outro you've seen in each episode.
The music is composed by Mackeerre once again, but with some help from our good friend Glowtide (who did the voice for Ape in HTP and the Fabricator-General in TTS).

Next week, we are in all likelihood going to start animating the thing and we're beyond excited. We're entirely certain its going to be more insane than anything we've made before and that's exactly what we plead for in this life.

And, I'll be honest, to get to have fun with the Half-Life setting, with massives nods towards Garry's Mod, both titles I have played extensively and loved for almost two decades, is a dream come true to someone who expected to exclusively be doing Warham for the next 10 years. I am extremely excited and, while it may be different, I hope you'll enjoy it as much as me.

Expect some actual examples of HLZV animation posted here next time an update comes.

Oh, and expect the next Audiolog to be out on the very same day!

That will be it for now.

Until next time, have a good one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comments

also door's got the right idea but I think a good suggestion is well a man catcher to add on to the shot gun but then again if you are indeed getting that close to a supernatural creature like that either you are already dead or it is already dead if you are not adhd like me look up shadaversity man catchers to see what I an babbling on about

wow I just don't know what to say other than wow Edit: I wanted to clarify I was actually amazed by this I just want to clarify so as to not be misinterpreted as sarcasm or disappointment

Bro can we get a stand alone video of that outro song?

MagosSnake

I look forward to the insanity

Electro_Static

some one get this man som mechanised exo infantry!

Eldar ortell

Not really, have you SEEN Halo the tv series?!

Trevor Bond

It was a magnificently put together work. It seems like each episode and each audiodrama just gets better than the last. Can't wait to see what's next

Zephyr444

I think the slower pacing helped with immersion and gradually building tension, but yeah it's a challenge to get the balance between creepy-slow and fucking boring right, I'd imagine, so yes, great success, high five!

YOU FLATTER US ALL TOO MUCH

Alfabusa

Biggest mood, Half-Life is just such a good series and I think both Karl and I share feelings regarding that. We've been exclusively using Half-Life SFX for the sound composition in HLZV and we're so familiar with all of the effects that is just clicks together like a ten-piece puzzle.

Alfabusa

Absolutely fantastic to hear!! We felt it was, like, too obvious, and that the tension might fall flat because we gave so many hints whilst not capitalising on the joke that is "Big-D thinks he is a ghoul all along and yet he isn't", because that would've probably been a funnier outcome. But, we couldn't resist including that Kevin portion and adding him to the Big-D secret club crew, because we loved writing for the character so much.

Alfabusa

Hahehaeheah, that's an amazing compliment, thank you so much. Our prime worry was mostly that it might come off as a bit meandering and slow and fucky pacing-wise but we could not tell whether or not any of that was the case whilst writing. We just had to kind of guess for a lot of it and try to make it work. Very experimental. But a successful experiment!

Alfabusa

Hooray and someone please get Marckus a wheelchair.

Yey

FrFoxy

Horse? W- wait. HORSE? ITS HORUS!!! THE HERESY!

Will Nelson

How sad is it that I look forward to your use of various IPs than I do actual companies trying to make big budget stuff for classic IPs? Keep up the good work, you're the only people making stuff I like lately!

Trevor Bond

For my part, I have been absolutely loving every stupid thing you and your beautiful team have been pulling together. Worth every penny! As far as HL is concerned, I am a massive cuck fan of that particular franchise and I am salivating at the thought of what absurd, demented shit you and your compatriots have to contribute to the Half Life landscape. Love ya!

Pixel Appreciator

the overlong sleeves on boy is just so adorable

SurlyPanda

Alfa, for a thrown together script, that was BRILLIANT. I legit did not know if he was really a Ghoul up until the very end. I loved it.

Zephyr444

Honestly mate, if you hadn't snitched on yourself, I would not in a thousand years (or 40 thousand huahehehahehoha) have guessed that it was rushed. That stuff was mad good, probably one of the best interrogation scenes I've seen in media period! Lots of movies go down the typical "violet interrogator" route, and your take was way more realistic and therefore thrilling! Splendid job!

I'M SO EXCITED FOR HORSE :D

Hokuto Shirou

Keep it up! Y'all stay shining.

Fizz of Insanity

I have one question. Will Half-Life zero viscosity contain any members of the science team??

MyOwnMedic

Thank y'all so much for the amazing audiolog!! I remember reading the update where you mentioned wanting to address the police situation and the end product is 🎉AMAZING🎉 I can't wait to see the next audiolog and the new Half-Life series

Skye Lee

I refuse to believe the masterful dialogue of the police audio-log was written in haste.

Sumelar

Beautiful. Thx for update mate. I am happy for you. Say hi to Karl for me love ya!
