Ay!
Just wanted to throw in an update on EP26 since it's the end of the month and all that, I felt it'd only be fair, considering.
I am focusing all of my editing-time on EP26 currently and it is going forward bit by bit every day (except yesterday, I was on the bathroom floor suffering some vile bacteria so I had a hard time working I am sorry please do not kill).
Now, the script is huger than anything I've ever worked with, so it might still take some time. But, I'd like to discuss some of the more exciting aspects of this episode that I've got in store.
1. THRONEROOM + PLOT = THE SAME NOW
This episode will include a change to the formula in a way that incorporates the throne-room scenes into the plot pretty seamlessly. The Emperor and his cohort will be able to see everything happening through a "livestream" (it'll make sense in the context of the episode), watching all that is happening to the Triumvirate of Beards (Leman, Fyodor and Draigo), and be able to comment on the things they go through, which is a lot of fun. This gives the episode a tight focus on a singular story while still retaining the commentary on how silly everything is a'la TTS. Thus, the TTS story will be used as a vehicle for the more educational bits that the series is known for. Of course, this will be our first time doing this, and I've got some future instances planned for it as well, so I'm hoping you will find the execution substantial.
2. TABLETOP IN TTS
We're implementing an actual tabletop game into the episode, played out in real-time.
You see, Eliphus and I decided to sit down and play a game of tabletop to decide some of the events in the episode.
As we played, I wrote down everything that happened in the battle, and now, it is my job to "translate" it from dice-rolls and measurements to an actual, living battle in TTS. Everything that happened in the battle will also happen in the video, no matter how shitty the rolls were.
As a result of this, a few characters that have been in the series for a time were involved in the battle and some, unfortunately, did not survive.
But, on the bright side, we can now also capitalise on tabletop jokes and make fun of some ridiculous rules that clearly do not work as well in a real battles as it does in a game.
As for a third thing, I am still considering releasing this episode in bits here on Patreon due to how fuckhuge it is. I feel it's only fair, and will make me less stressed out (which is the whole thing of course).
But, I gotta say, it feels good to be working on this. I might just start work on EP27 straight after 26 is done. Barring an episode of Upper Hive.
Now I'm going to go back to editing Leman Russ turning around and moving away from Fyodor, as he does.
Have a good one!
