Help decide Regiment & Colonel Name!

AY THERE!

First of all, thank you all for your help this month! I've noticed that, holy crap, it has actually reached over the 2300-milestone - which I honestly did not expect to happen. But it has! And in doing so, I am going to start doing some 'lectures' on how to edit like me for a couple of people interested in helping out with editing, just so I can establish it thouroughly. Who knows, perhaps if I could also upload these videos in the form of tutorials here on Patreon, if anyone else wants to know how to do it!

Nevertheless - for the purpose of this post.

With the upcoming Vulkan/Corax series, I have decided to do something that is mostly just for fun. We've decided to create some new Catachan Jungle Fighter Regiments for the purpose of the Crusade to Terra that Vulkan and Corax are leading.

In 40k, new Regiments are created all the time, especially for events such as Crusades or big wars being fought. But each Regiment must have a name, and each Regiment must have a leader (most often in the form of a Colonel).

Here are some examples:

Regiments joining the crusade:

Catachan II (2nd) - led by Colonel ‘Iron Hand’ Straken

Catachan XXVIII (28th) “Swamprats” - led by Colonel Gator

Catachan MCDXCIX (1499) “Crusaders” - led by Colonel ‘Ham-Fist’ Hogus

So, the first one is probably the most well-known Catachan regiment. The second is also canon, and pretty hilarious. The third we made up. But this is the template you should follow when creating a regiment! Just make sure its numerals are ridiculously high like the one we created, perhaps even numbered closely to ours, just to establish that they were made for the purpose of the Crusade!

Make sure to give the Regiment a 'nickname', as well as the Colonel. A Colonel has to have his nickname, like Straken's 'Iron Hand' and Hogus' 'Ham-Fist'. It is important to Catachan culture to be given a name by your comrades for deeds done in the battlefield.

Otherwise, go nuts, come up with something fun and fitting! We'll be choosing four Regiments & Colonels. And, for an added bonus - one Colonel name I'll be basing on someone who posts here. If you don't want your name used for a Colonel, please make sure to tell me so in your post!

But yeah, that's it for now! I've chosen all proper questions for the next Q&A dealio, and if you don't get in you'll get a new chance for the next podcast episode!

Until then, have a good one! LOVE YOU.

Catachan MMCCXXII "The Fighting 2's" led by the eccentric and illustrious Colonel Patrick "Double Deuce" Delmont .

Catachan MMMXXX "Light Bringers" (more formely know as Flashers) led by brave Colonel "Brass Balls" McBraxter. The man whose very steps chime with Emperor`'s blessing (or dinner bell, depending which side of the walls you ask).

Catachan IX "Predators", under the command of Arno "Exterminator" Stegal.

i feel we need a yaric lol

Catachan III "Royal Princess", under the command of Colonel Biggus "Bestus" Mostus. The Catachan 3rd live by a most ancient creed indeed: 1st the worst, 2nd the best, 3rd the royal princess. Though their discovery of the ancient creed (written on parchment of most dubious origin) was possibly heretical, Colonel Biggus ultimately decided that the words were so inspirational that they had to be from the Emperor himself, and now the Catachan III lives to prove itself a royal princess... whatever one of those is.

Catachan MLVII (1057th) "Cato's Claws", under the command of Colonel Ramius "Blueboy" Porter. As a young Devil on his first deployment, Porter's regiment served alongside the Ultramarines 2nd Company under he, the most legendary Cato Sicarius. In awe of this flawless image of what a warrior of the Imperium should be, Porter strove to follow the Ultramarines example, and when he rose to command of the 1057th, he pressed his men to do the same (much to their horror, as this often involved applying liberal amounts of blue face paint and being sent on suicide missions)

Faldarion CXLVII (147) Armored Regiment “Holy Rollers” - led by Colonel ‘Superstar’ Hazus Hailing from the shrine world Faldarious, The Holy Rollers are a devout regiment that has been rather unsure of itself ever sense the Emperors declaration that he is in fact, not a God. But no matter! They shale find themselves and their purpose in this new crusade!

Zero Hits

Catachan MCMLXXXVII (1987) "Creepers" Led by Colonel Daniel "Steel-Toe" Rogers. Their leader got both legs blown off as a younger soldier when they blundered into a mine zone and have been replaced with bionic limbs. Specialists in reconnaissance who pave the way for other regiments, they adopt a cautious and calculated approach that would make a Administratum drone think they're a boorish lot.

Jack Ponder

The Catachan MCCCXXXVII (1337) "MemeLords" Led by Colonel Griim "Dat Boi" Dahnk. They where responsible for stopping the worshipers of the chaos god "AarenGezzus" (Say it fast) on planet Grimdark, that was also suffering an Ork WAAAGH, a Tyranid invasion, a Dark Eldar excursion, A mutant uprsing, a Necron re-awakening, and a rebellion. Every battle was a heroic last stand. Even when they had superior numbers, sudden and inexplicable betrayals would revert the situation back to a last stand. It was truly the Grimdankest of timelines.

Catachan 432nd "Devils talons" led by Colonel Markov "FireStarter" Hunter with his personal Field Medic Grimmbol "tickles" Wordsworth.

Arganos The Brass Scorpion

Catachan MDCCLXIX "Barking Toads" led by Colonel "Groxhead" Gormsby. The 1769th Catachan was formed 'out of the zone' by combining the shattered remains of the Catachan MLXVI "Plasma Fiends" and the Catachan DCCIII "Landsharks" after serving a tour defending Ryza and surrounding systems from Orks. The Toads gained their moniker soon after it formed, for when the new unit was shaking down (having a massive brawl), a Commissar from another regiment decided to restore order by persuading (threatening) several mortar teams to fire low grade nerve agents into the melee. The Catachan's being of hardy stock ignored the dense clouds of irritant while summoned MP units were forced to keep their distance, by the time the aerosol dispersed the two former regiments had settled their differences and the new 1769th was already joking amongst themselves and repairing the (surprisingly little) damage caused from the fight. Colonel "Groxhead" Gormsby was the former Colonel of the Plasma Fiends and maintains a rather cordial relationship with the Adeptus Mechanicus, which was why he and his old regiment were originally 'oversupplied' with plasma weapons that earned them their name (most of the weapons however have been lost to overloads). He claims he took the nickname "Groxhead" after headbutting one of the animals unconscious.

Catachan CXIII (113th) "Helljumper" Regiment , Colonel Luigi "Dumb Luck" Giotto. Known for their uncanny ability to find the worst odds. Catachan DCCXLI (740th) "Shadow Walkers" Regiment, Lead by Colonel Zatarra "Umbra" Manetti. "None of us knew they were here. We were in conflict for months, until they stepped out of the dark, we and the enemy, collectively shat our drawers", - First Sargent Rickard James
