(Preview) 2025 Election | Honest Government Ad

Dear Patrons

Here is the preview of our next Honest Government Ad!

As you probably know, we are about to have our next federal election - it could come as early as March. And like many of you, (or maybe not), I've been thinking a lot about what our government needs to learn from the outcome of the US election, if it wants to avoid Dutton winning and implementing Project Gina.

I've also been thinking a lot about how fortunate we are to have preferential voting here in Australia - and how it makes our elections so fundamentally different (and better) to the USA's. And how much it would suck if Aussie voters fell in the trap of thinking they're forced to vote Red or Blue, like Americans are.

So that's what this Honest Government Ad is about.

As always, your feedback on the audio and script would be welcome - does it all sound ok? You're the first ones to hear it!

Apologies, this preview doesn't come with much notice, am hoping to publish the HGA tomorrow!

Till then, take care
Giordano

Hi Palitja, thanks for the feedback - and yes we included the Greens in the Not-Shit Candidates list!

Thanks Mark xo

Thanks David. I am gutted to hear about the referendum in Colorado! It reminds me of how they had a similar referendum in the UK. There was a huge misinformation campaign about preferential/ranked choice voting then - I assume a similar thing happened in CO

Thanks Anyo :)

Labor & Coalition, Labour & Tories, Democrats & Republicans - They're all on the side of keeping the money flowing to the rich & corporate and screwing over the rest of us. I always compare it to the good-cop-bad-cop schtick - the rhetoric is different, but the goals are the same. At least here in Oz we have ways of undermining the duopoly, if enough punters can be bothered to think for themselves...

Excellent! Our USA two-party, first-to-the-post system coupled with rampant misogyny doomed Kamala. My main lesson from our defeat up here in the USA is that attention spans are shortening! When I see the final with the video I'll try to come up with some TikTok appropriate short recommendations.

Really good. I didn't get the reference about another Kev, at about 20 seconds. It might make sense with the visual or perhaps the audio needs to be clearer? Also, I trust the not-shit candidates will include Greens, who copped some criticism recently in the Conversation for not playing 'the game' enough on the affordable housing bill; being too much of a protest base. The 'game' of politics concept makes me nauseus. It's not a game, it's people's lives, and any time not-shit candidates work at un-stacking the system, with courage and conviction, they're the bad guys?? The neo liberal narrative flips everything on its head.

Really clever helping Australians understand what’s really going on here by holding up the polarised US model Giordano. Dutton’s either/ or narrative seems to get cut through. Grateful to you for using satire to remind Aussies that we’re not in the either/ or scenario (yet) but have a thriving independent movement

Anyo

Thanks for reinforcing the preferential voting importance again. We were disappointed that Colorado voters did not approve (by 54-46%) a statewide referendum to begin a trial of ranked choice voting here. But at least it was relatively close despite the 2 major parties feeling very threatened by it. I will share the video whenever I can.

As always your ad strips the masquerade off of your Clark Stanleys. I just hope it will help Down Under, as here we are royally, totally fncked. The Reich-Wing has now taken over our presidency, our congress, our courts, our media, our corporate boardrooms, our stock exchange, our markets, our planet's atmosphere and oceans. Mammon rules. Always has. Always will.
