Working on commissions. One finished in a sketchbook, as seen above.
If all goes well, I'm doing two merchandise illustrations in the near future.
It's been over 10 months, but some of you might recall that I was asked to pitch some stories to a comics publisher. Well, I finally heard back from them after a much longer stretch of time than usual, long enough that when I read the e-mail I honestly couldn't remember the story pitch that they accepted. I am hoping we can work out the rate and schedule so I can do it. I can't just drop everything right now, so, who knows. It's a short script, but, I'm a slow worker these days. Here's to hoping. Especially if they offer me my basic page rate.
People have been paying ridiculous prices for the Eltingville Club collection on eBay and now the two Dark Horse back issues have been affected by whatever's possessing some folks. And the lunchbox, which we couldn't give away when they came out. I feel super weird about it. I appreciate the interest but seeing The Eltingville Club comics becoming high-priced collectibles is just too on the nose,. Too Bring Me The Head of Boba Fett (I hope no one rips their comic in half). There's going to be a reprint eventually, if folks can wait they'll save a lot of money.
Reminder that the BEASTS OF BURDEN OMNIBUS hits shelves on Febrary 18th. I was asked to do asigning but my schedule wouldn't allow me to travel. WHich is a bummer, as I'd like to do some signings to promote the book, but it's not a good time. At least someone asked, that's a hopeful sign.
Speaking of Omnibus editions, expect another one next year. We're still going to have 2026, right? Here's to hoping. Anyway, save up $30 for next year.
I'm considering letting folks pledging at the $10 tier to send books to be signed and sketched in. Trying to figure out how to do it without making a mess of things. Let me know if that's something you'd be interested in, $10 backers. I haven't been doing conventions in years, I don't know when I might start again. This isn't something I'd be able to do for a while, though. It's just an idea for now. Winky says she won't help me pack anything up. Good cat, bad assistant.
Back to work. More later, soon.

A reader's "shrine" to Bill Dickey of The Eltingville Club. Holy Moley! There's others. This whole Eltingville situation is just unreal. In a good way. Unreal.
