Character profile: Catherine

Catherine Wilson is the girl next door and is the oldest of all the daughters.

She moved away after finishing college to pursue her career. You find her moving back home on the first game day. She only gives the reason for coming back as life sometimes throws you a curveball. Although, when you ask about her stuff she says there wasn’t time to bring everything; suggesting the move home wasn’t planned.

Catherine was Max’s babysitter growing up. As her mom doesn’t allow sleepovers she would use babysitting as an excuse for her best friend Samantha to stay over at your house with her. This effectively means you had both girls as your babysitters.

Since they were sleeping over at your house you would often see them in PJ’s or just their underwear. As such, neither girl seems to mind you seeing them in a state of undress. Although how far you can push that is for you to find out.

If you take the option to help Catherine remove her high heels you get an opportunity for a 'look closer' up her skirt. Admitting you looked can earn affinity points. Whereas trying to deny it can lose affinity.

The first meeting with Catherine also shows how the difficulty system works. Offering to help with the boxes will earn 2 persona points. This puts you in ‘Nice Guy’ territory in Easy and Normal game modes. You remain neutral in Hard mode as you need at least 3 points for ‘Nice Guy’.

When Catherine hugs you there is a choice to grab her butt. Doing so with ‘Nice Guy’ persona means she doesn’t mind and gently removes your hand. Otherwise, she calls you out and you lose affinity points.

This demonstrates how the different game modes work. You can’t simply play in Easy Mode and then repeat the same actions in Hard.

There are two main branching options when you meet Catherine. Choosing to carry the largest box is called the Panty path, whereas the heaviest box is the Music path.

With the panty path, when Catherine opens the box the first item she pulls out is panties. In the conversation, Max says they look a little see-through. To test that theory, she puts them over your head like a pirate’s eye patch. She then asks if you can see through them.

On the music path, the first item Catherine pulls out of the box is a demo CD of her singing. Her mom interrupts before she says more, but this shows Catherine has an interest in singing professionally.

She also tells you she’s got a job at the college as a substitute teacher covering Art and History. You can earn affinity points if you then select those classes. That bonus is only available if she tells you about the teaching job before your course selection which is only available on the Music path.

There is a hidden bonus scene available for Catherine. When selecting which box to carry you can say she looks sweaty. She tells you she’ll jump in the shower later, which opens an option to spy on her getting changed when you get home in the evening.

The bonus scene has a slight branch, which is only available on the panty path. If you chose the option of remembering her walking around in just a long t-shirt with no pants that unlocks her putting a long t-shirt on during the spying scene. Otherwise, she walks out of view and reemerges already wearing the long t-shirt.
