Hello one and all!
First of all I'd like to that everyone who submitted a map to the second Map Making Contest! As usual I've updated the USERMADE MAP GALLERY on my website, where you can take a closer look at all the maps that have been submitted!
All contestants can get their bonus content by hitting me up on Discord or via email at crossheadstudios@gmail.com. The winner of the poll will win their custom DungeonDraft assets (theme), custom tokens and will receive a copy of the adventure magazine we write with their theme and the magic items tied to it.
This poll will be open until next Friday (December 24th) and the user with the most votes will be added to our Hall of Champions (in Discord)!
(Our previous champion (CalmRosie) has also made an amazing submission which I've added to our poll here. If she were to win a second time however I will give her an alternative prize and give the "asset prize + tokens, adventure, and items to the contestant in second place.)
HERE ARE OUR CONTENDERS:
1. TARSIZ - ICEBREAKER

Another fantastic submission by Tarsiz, featuring this massive ship called Icebreaker. I just love the creativity in building custom waterwheels, the atmosphere of the smoke, and the lighting surrounding the ship as it tears its way through the ice ahead.
2. CALMROSIE - MERMAID HOUSE

CalmRosie is BACK with another wonderful submission featuring this underwater mermaid house. I just love all the detail that has gone into making this map, the little reading nooks, the cozy kitchen, and the statue of the mermaid herself pointing the way in.
3. GUI. K - OCEAN TEMPLE

This massive 3 level Ocean Temple by Gui. K features a lot of aquatic critters, winding waterways, and a cool walkway at the second level of the temple. Good use of blur to give a sense of depth as we rise up with each level, which I really love. A really vibrant map for any underwater adventure!
4. MATT BERG - DESERT SHIP

Matt Berg is also back in our water-themed contest, with this fantastic dried-up desert featuring the wreck of a ship. All goofs aside, what I always love about Matt's maps is the excellent use of color filters to bring so much atmosphere to the scene.
5. BARTLEBY - THE SWAMP BOAT

Bartleby's submission for our watery contest features this fantastic swamp map, with a steampunkesque swamp boat. The ship has an excellent layout design. I love the shapes, the use of lighting inside, and the smoke pouring out of the engine. The coloring in the water really pulls your eyes to all the right places!
6. WOJCIECH - THE SHIP

Wojciech is also back with a ship that features 4 versions, including a one without the sails and a look inside the hull. I just love a good ship design any day, a lot of my own adventures feature ships because they are just so much fun to play around in. An excellent map to have in your arsenal any day!
7. FUKURO - BATTLEFIELD OF TITANS

Fukuro is also back with this fantastically atmospherical battlemap. The use of color in combination with the fantastic centerpiece really makes this map sing. You can imagine the massive battles that have taken place here and can only wonder what will happen if you tread on it yourself.
8. CATARINA - WELL OF MEMORIES

Catarina is back with a cool (in both senses of the word) cave map featuring a mysterious underwater well and a camp-out spot where adventurers might take their time to uncover the secrets hidden inside this alcove. Excellent use of terrain combinations here with lots of powerful colors to really take this map to the next level.
9. DR. FEARGOOD - THE BRIDGE

Dr. Feargood submitted this amazing map some time ago but I just felt it was an excellent addition to add to this competition, I love the use of assets to create a unique bridge spanning over this icy river.
Thanks again for all the submissions! I really enjoyed going through them all. I will be taking some time before I submit the next contest, which will probably feature some of the assets I'm currently in the progress of finishing up. Including the content of our previous winner, I hope to have more news soon. (The goal is by the end of this contest, but with Covid and kids being home, it is always a bit more difficult to really put an exact timing on it)
