I forgot that Harry Dean was in Wild At Heart, until someone mentioned it in the comments. I haven’t seen it in ages. Same with Blue Velvet. Great cast. Lynch definitely liked to use the same actors a lot. And like you, I also was half expecting Dennis Hopper to say “Pop quiz, hotshot.” Who doesn’t love Speed? Dennis Hopper was so good at playing a lunatic. I remember him doing his Blue Velvet character in an SNL skit, but I didn’t realize at the time it was from this. Which reminds me, he did a movie that was shot in Australia called Mad Dog Morgan, apparently he was quite the handful during the filming. Looking forward to watching Twin Peaks episode 2 tonight.
