Talkin' I'LL BE SEEING YOU with Bridget & Mary Jo

Hello, dear Traxians, and welcome to the weekend. Today we released a new Bridget and Mary Jo riff, but this podcast is talkin' about the one before that, Mary Higgins Clark's I'll Be Seeing You. It took me a bit longer than expected to edit this one down - we chatted a bit longer than normal; we had a lot to say about this one! It has also been a while since I sat down with Bridget and Mary Jo to record an episode of the podcast, so perhaps we were trying to make up for lost time.

Join us as we discuss the many intriguing story choices this movie made, the Lieutenant character whose actual name is "Story," a mysterious dog that can be heard barking in several scenes, Alison Eastwood's wooden delivery, and the meaning of the word "snirt."

And be sure to stick around for Bridget's spot-on Margot Kidder impression.

Enjoy!

I think Bridget mentioned that to me at some other point. He and I have that in common, because those Hallmark movies (and Netflix rom-coms) are amazingly dumb but sometimes in a fun way, if that makes sense!

I really do love when Mary Jo & Bridget talk. It's like listening to friends in a coffee shop catching up. Also, Mike watches Hallmark movies? We're just going to skip over that?

Nevermind - found it. Download option is under the 3-dots context menu. Glad to see it's still available.

Mary Jo claims to never have read an MHC novel yet knew this movie was nothing like the book? Now I'm picturing her sitting in a cafe reading "Nighttime Is My Time" concealed beneath a "Swann's Way" dust jacket.

Awesome stuff! And thank you for letting me automatically download this to my podcast app!

Great podcast. I already listen to 372 Pages but would definitely listen to you all do a Mary Higgins Clark podcast. My wife had a friend over last night who had read "He Sees You When You're Sleeping" so of course we had to play the riff of it. Apparently that movie changed everything from the book as well. Did they just have finished scripts lying around and decide to attach them to whatever Mary Higgins Clark novel they had the rights to? Anyway, I look forward to your new podcast, Mary Higgins After Clark

Love these - are you able to add the download option?

I like the idea of a MHC book club podcast! In fact, there happens to be a podcast about bad books that you *might* know about (heavy sarcasm, lol). Mike & Conor could give you tips on how 372 Pages works 😁😁 Love this chat .. I feel like a lucky lurker who happened to sit at the table next to you guys in a quiet restaurant. If that actually happened, I'd have a hard time suppressing my giggles 😂

We're here to entertain AND enlighten!

RiffTrax

Thanks Doug! We try to keep it as organic as possible, which sometimes results in tangents - but we also try to keep them somewhat entertaining! Thanks for listening.

RiffTrax

Wait, I only just now learned that Alison Eastwood is Clint's daughter.

The Master and Torgarita

I'm kind of disappointed that there's only one more MHC movie to come! Love these movies and what you ladies do with them! BTW, most of her novel names are names of old songs.

I love these chats. I love Talkin' Rifftrax but these chats with MJP and BJN seem so much more spontaneous and organic (is that the same thing?). Its fun to just listen to you all chat. And I agree with what MJP said, when I was younger a lot of people said I looked exactly like Mike Myers in his SNL days (even my Dad), but to this day I don't see any resemblance we ever had.

Doug Taylor

Bridget and Mary Jo NEVER disappoint😄! Their friendship has always shone through which makes for ridiculously well done humor. Keep it up ladies❀
