Hangin' Out with RiffTrax: DEFEND YOUR CHOICE

Hello there, Super and Ultra Traxians!

We're well into the swing of March, so it's about time we got to this month's exclusive webinar! This time around, Mike, Kevin, Bill, Sean, and Conor played a game of DEFEND YOUR CHOICE (all caps required).

And the video of last week's Hangin' Out is now available to all Traxians. Watch in the player above or download it here.

Enjoy!

Hangin' Out with RiffTrax: DEFEND YOUR CHOICE

My friends and I were just talking about Tremors a couple days ago. Turns out we all liked it and thought it was funny! I saw it when it came out. At the time, Kevin Bacon was known for being a very good-looking, talented actor. (Come on! Barn dancing in Footloose?? Hot!) And now he's playing a redneck doofus -- and it looks like he's having a great time doing it. It was a fun movie then and now.

Tremors is great. I started out thinking "here's a stupid sci-fi premise", but all the actors are into it, and by the end I was totally into the movie. However, I would not say that all the sequels were great...

1. Spy (2015) is a better comedy than Pitch Perfect. 2. Tremors is great. Jurassic park may be better--more variety in the monsters--but it's not as funny or as likeable.

Definitely nice to see some Tremors love. I don't think we saw it in theaters, but we definitely rented it multiple times before the family bought it. Just a solid, funny movie with pretty good special effects that has a well done B-movie feel. I haven't met anyone who has seen it that didn't enjoy it, although most people don't remember it when it's brought up. An overlooked gem of the 90's for sure. My father, who could never pass up a bargain bin of DVDs, had every one of those sequels...which I'm pretty sure I've seen, given that he seemed to have a new one every time I visited and that's what he would recommend we watch. I think they are in the dictionary under the definition of "diminishing returns."

So ... the girl I like also likes Hallmark movies like Mike. Not sure how I feel about this ...

Jeff

I have to agree with Sean: Twilight, best comedy of the last 20 years. I will never stop suggesting a Bridget & MJ edition of that.

Likely we'll have a Scener thing as well but it will end before this Webinar starts. And Zoom is very easy! You don't even need to install anything, you can just use the web browser client.

RiffTrax

Wait will there be any Scener thing going on that day or just a “zoom” thing? Just checking because I don’t have or know how to use zoom yet.

Is a job interview more important than this? My inner Traxian says no, but that is a voice I choose to ignore when making major life decisions.

So, I just listened to that whole pilot and it was SO GREAT! I’m really bummed that it didn’t get picked up!
