Howdy, DripTraxians!
Your most recent Internet Friend Erik here with another update for you. We have a new shorts DVD collection on the horizon, and this time it's "The Walking Dead" themed! (The shorts run the gamut, as per usual.)
I recently received the DVD box art proof to review, and thought it might be fun if our resident artist Jason Martin broke down how he did such a great job of turning the riffers into characters from the show.

[ERIK NOTES: I also recommend finding a body image that has similar lighting to your destination image's environment. If your source images all have disparate lighting sources, color temperatures, etc., it will look weird, and probably require more work to fix it. I've found it's ideal to start out with source material that's as close to where you want it to be as possible.]

[ERIK'S NOTE: If the subject for your face-swap is willing, have some professionally-lit photos taken of them so you can get multiple takes of various expressions - just to be safe. Austin Powers-esque shouting at your model while taking said photos is not recommended. Also, note that the direction of the lighting in the image matches the body double's.]

[NOTE FROM ERIK: Here's a good one.]

And there you have it. Just five steps! It's really that simple.
As a graphic designer myself, I would also mention that Layer Masks are your best friend when you are trying to put faces on different peoples' bodies. Digitally, I mean. Unless you're a zombie.
Your pal,
Erik
