This photo was from a very windy late afternoon in the sand dunes. I always loved this set, but it was absolute misery to shoot in! It looks like a gentle dusting in this photo, but it was WINDY. I had sand EVERYWHERE, and I swear it took forever to get it cleaned up (I was finding sand in my ears for days!). Not to mention poor Alfred was cleaning out his camera for hours. But it was still beautiful, and one of those forever memories. (Sorry the photo is so small, but that's how Alfred always sent them.)
On a separate note, I wanted to remind everyone that next month there is no charge for current patrons. I'm actually contemplating not charging for a while. While I don't make very much money at my "regular" job, I still feel lucky to be employed, and I don't model for the sake of making money off of those who support me. It certainly means a lot to me, though.
Personally, I'm struggling a bit with our political climate. And by struggling, I don't mean mental-health-wise, I mean more in terms of finding time for the creative part of my brain. I know that I have received plenty of messages asking me to leave politics out of my "persona", but it's hard. I can't speak my mind at my normal job, so I feel driven to take advantage of my anonymous venue. On top of that, issues involving racism and inequality strike very close to my heart, and it is currently weighing down my creative spirit.
I will continue to create and share, but perhaps by not charging, I won't feel obligated to hide my voice when I feel the need to speak up. And at the moment I feel that way.
