Within the matrix series most of humanity are trapped in pods their minds linked in a computer simulation. When people are awakened that means they are freed from their pod and recused by other humans. The pod designs are pretty cool too btw lol and a interesting part of the movie since the RSI (how the human sees themselves) can be different from their physical bodies sometimes that was the original character of Switch
