Chapter 360: Preparation for the Future

Mila moved to the specialized space station in the Twelve Element Spirit Universe where they’d time frozen the United Federation of Planets’ powerhouses blocked from advancing due to the soul plague and there she immediately began to inspect all the men and women who’d trusted her to eventually find a solution, especially her apprentice. But still, even with A rank power, she couldn’t sense anything.
Even with her control over faith energy and her many skills which enhanced her senses, she couldn’t find any of the faith energy based power she’d sensed leaving her grandmother when Irena had ascended to godhood.
Frustrated, she then moved to a low rank yet highly populated planet and focused as her sensory domain covered every living being in the solar system, especially paying attention to pregnant mothers and popular artists. And this time she was able to sense something.
It was barely there, but, by watching for a few months, she could sense something entering into the souls of human fetuses at around six months into their gestation, right about the time their souls formed, and at the same stage for all other lifeforms with souls as well.
This, however, she was pretty sure was just the base of the plague, something which caused the generated faith energy of the influenced souls to send whatever caused the personality altering effects to those they had faith in. And, no matter what she tried, she couldn’t sense how the generated faith energy was altered at all.
“One step forward, but not quite there yet.” Aalam appeared next to her, obviously knowing her emotions, and placed a hand on her shoulder. “But, while Edi’s pretty strong, we still have several hundred million years. And that time will increase as my strength and mastery of the Laws of time do. So there is no huge rush.”
Aalam had been the one to set up the time freeze formation keeping Edi and the others from aging, but it wasn’t a permanent fix. While they couldn’t move, and their bodies wouldn’t age, Aalam couldn’t yet fully freeze the souls of even C ranks, let alone a B rank like Edi, so it was only a stop gap measure until she could come up with an actual way to fix the soul plague.
It was just so frustrating how she wasn’t even close.
“All we can do now is increase our strength.” Aalam gave her shoulder a light squeeze as she felt one of his Laws, Multi-Dimensional Geometry, advance to become a true Law. “The more we increase our power, the more we can figure out. And the stronger we get, the more we can interfere when whatever Elandra is planning begins.”
“Do you think we should try to find her and ask?”
Mila knew what she thought. With the woman being able to secretly influence the souls of every being in the multiverse, her control over faith energy was far above Mila’s own, and, given all the things Mila could do with faith energy, that meant she was dangerous. So, it was far too much of a risk to approach her with even a clone.
And that was even assuming they could find her. A single universe was huge, let alone the several dozen which allowed for elder god travel from the Prime Material. Finding a needle in a haystack was a piece of cake by comparison.
Still, her husband was a miracle worker, so it was possible he could come up with something to keep them safe.
Sadly, she already knew Aalam had no new scientific breakthroughs which could help. She was just grasping at straws.
“Sorry, Mila. I agree that it’s too dangerous.
“You read the information in all those gods’ minds. Elder gods are a whole new power level compared to gods, and we definitely won’t be ready to face one until we maximize our power at A rank, let alone find one that doesn’t want to be found.”
Mila turned and kissed her husband on the cheek. “Thanks.”
Then she took a deep breath to clear her mind. “Let’s get back to work and make it so no one can mess with our citizens like this in the future.”
Aalam, over the time they’d been stuck at the peak of B rank, had advanced another set of Laws from each element to the peak grade Law Dragon level, leaving him with 48 Laws, so, if he merged all the Laws he had together, he could have 12 middle grade True Laws, more than any of the elder gods. But this was a lot more difficult than it sounded as most of his Laws were quite far away from each other in his law model. So, at the start, he’d only be aiming for three early grade True Laws of each element.
Mila, on the other hand, was going to try to break through to the True Law level with all 14 of her Laws, and that was probably going to take more work.
Given their new inherent racial abilities, however, it was only a matter of time, and the main thing Mila was worried about was if they would become powerful enough fast enough to interfere with whatever Elandra had planned.
With Aalam advancing, the Prime Material was weakened ever so slightly, meaning portals connecting it to other universes would all strengthen by half a rank. And that was almost certainly what the elder goddess was waiting for, so it wouldn’t be long until her plan truly began.
And there was a whole list of things they had to do.
First, they had to help Diana and Isaiah advance to A rank as well so they’d have two more combatants at the god level, an easy task given the both of them were ready, just waiting on Aalam’s advancement so Diana could improve her bloodline.
Second, they had to advance all their Laws to the True Law level to meet one of the requirements for becoming gods.
Third, they had to gain about twelve divine roles each to be safe for the second requirement for becoming gods, and also for extra power.
Fourth, they had to maximize all their stats, easy given the amount of pure refined nascent energy they’d gathered.
Fifth, they had to raise all their soulstructures to Gargantuan size, a size Immortalia at least had never even heard of, something again relatively easy given their amount of pure refined nascent energy.
Sixth, they had to create their final skills, such as the skill which would allow them to store all their memories in a wisp of their soul, allowing them to be reborn even if what was effectively their true bodies were destroyed.
Seventh, they had to maximize their mastery of all their skills, Aalam’s 38 and her 31. At A rank, this would mostly involve completely infusing their skills with the power of their Law energy, natural energy, and faith energy, and it would be relatively easy given the advantages Aalam gained from being a master of universes, advantages he could share with the three of them given their classes.
Eighth, they had to raise all their uniquenesses to Supreme grade. Aalam already had two at that level, Id and Supreme God, and he could probably raise his now twelve other uniquenesses to Supreme grade as well as he gathered more natural energy, but Mila didn’t have any, so she would need Aalam’s help once he was done with his own—the raising of which would make it even easier to guide the required energy into her soul. Raising her Shadow Goddess uniqueness to Shadow Supreme Goddess, however, she might be able to achieve while gaining her divine roles.
Ninth, they had to figure out a better title for Supreme grade uniquenesses than Supreme God. They were so rare that there wasn’t a better name, but Mila wanted something less silly sounding.
Tenth, they had to conquer all known universes not connected to the Prime Material by elder god level portals. There were a couple with other elder gods they might need to avoid, but Mila saw no reason not to spread the number of universes controlled by the United Federation of Planets. A larger population made for easier faith gathering, and the conquering of universes was pretty easy with Aalam’s skillset, so there wasn’t much of a reason not to.
Given their current level of power, they wouldn’t even have to kill anyone.
Eleventh, they had to get Aalam to take in as many servants as his new Supreme grade soul lord line skill would allow, helping Aalam gain both faith energy and the effects of any sudden enlightenment they triggered while boosting the subordinates’ talents with his incredible boons.
Twelfth, they had to start the process of rapidly gathering faith energy for anyone they cared about who’d advanced to A rank, ridding them of the soul plague and giving Mila a better chance to look at it again.
Thirteenth, they had to implement policies which would encourage the study of rarer Laws, giving everyone in their force with the Power of Chaos racial ability more Law Eggs to learn.
Fourteenth, they had to participate in a whole heck of a lot of combat training against the gods and A ranks of the United Federation of Planets.
And, finally, fifteenth, they had to test the effects of the further increases to the effectiveness of dual cultivation from her first class and bloodline, probably a lot.
