[Poll] Which Art-Style Do You Prefer?
Added 2025-07-30 05:01:27 +0000 UTCThe Ai artist I work with on the images for the illustratred tier stories has asked me which style I prefer for stories moving forward?
So far everything has been as realistic as possible, imitating real photos, but he's said he's been finding it challenging to bypass many content restrictions with the latest AI models. His workflow involves Sora and Imagen along with a mix of Stable Diffusion local models for inpainting, and he said he's finding it much easier to get sexy and more stylistic results with the more painted style. None of this makes much sense to me, but I thought I'd see what you all prefer?
Side note: This of course has nothing to do with the real artists I'm working with on comics. All comics produced for this Patreon will be handmade from real artists and include no AI generated imagery.
These were the sample images he sent me. Same exact prompts and workflow were used for both. Personally, I prefer painted. I think it's a lot more stylized and sexy.

Interesting! I would never do animation style with AI. I have artists I work with for that kind of work. But for the photorealistic and painting style, it's much harder to do that without AI.

2025-07-30 12:21:41 +0000 UTCThis is one poll where I definitely can't vote - I'm not particularly in favor of one over the other, provided that the artwork is good and fits the story. About the only style I'd have a visceral objection to would be anything that suggests animation, whether "western" or "anime".

Not likely that painting will win, but the further we can get from reality I think the better simply because even the realistic, to me, hardly looks realistic. At least for now, basically all AI creations get the lighting slightly off unless the user actually modifies it themselves manually but by its very nature many AI image users don't realize that to be a problem in the first place. When its a painting style it just generally tricks my brain better because its not flaring as many reality errors. Now, the painting style isnt perfect either. In this particular example the wands spell thing appears to be a light source but that's not reflected in either style on her body in basically anyway. I am not generally this critical of fetish porn AI art simply because I'm not looking at this stuff for the light work but essentially the further removed from reality the less uncanny it becomes for me.
