Solanaceae - Prologue Chapter 2 - Page 29

**Sorry if you're seeing a double of this post, I messed up on the old one and some stuff can only be fixed on Patreon by deleting a post. It's annoying!

This is the make or break page for Satine fans, for new and old readers alike!

I think readers who have read the entire rest of the series and know what happens with Satine, know about him almost dying for Battam and how they make up, have a better view of Satine than newer readers who only know the prologue consider Satine a "threat" somehow -- but I wanted to show readers of all kinds that Satine is just as flawed as Battam and Sal and has just as many flawed ways of thinking.

Satine helps Battam, he gives him money and supports him and doesn't disagree with his way of magic, but he would also be okay if Battam was punished for a while-- almost thinking of it as something that would bring them together. It's messed up! But, of course, Satine doesn't think these thoughts forever. Especially not into the Epilogue.

Also, Satine is horny. Want fuck Sal.

I hope you enjoyed the updates for this week! Thanks again for all of your amazing support!

OOOH I LOVE THIS COMMENT OOH thank you! I think you're very spot on with this! I think it's worth mentioning too, how Satine is with the coven "for the long con" as it were, as he's stayed there for so long basically just to try and get their Mom's body back "the proper way" -- which is touched on in the original three chapters. *nod nod* What you said about Satine being pliable is OH SO SPOT ON AND OOH THE AGONY I love it. Satine is really blinded by loyalty and a sense of like "what is right" -- which is funny because Battam is the same way, BUT ABOUT OPPOSITE VALUES. They both love each other a lot but struggle SO MUCH to get thru all this bullshit, and it will be so nice to show their relationship start to mend in the epilogue, as well as Satine finally being able to show some real emotions, and stick up for himself :) Thanks again for such a lovely comment <3 It really makes me feel so happy and so confident that you can read my work and understand the themes and emotions I try so desperately to portray ToT <3 you're awesome

I always feel like Satine and Battam are opposites in how they absorbed the Coven teachings. Battam reacted with disgust and rejection to what he experienced, perhaps even going a bit too far sometimes in rejecting everything coming from the Coven as dangerous and oppressive. Satine however took all the teachings seemingly at face value, along with already being horribly pliable. At this point it almost borders a bit on brainwashing, with how blindly and readily he accepts all rules and punishments as For The Greater Good. The events later seem to open his eyes on a visceral level for how Not Okay punishment like that is, as the abstract idea of it is suddenly put onto people he is deeply attached to and his only remaining family. Even if he was punished in the past, he comes across like someone who doesn't value himself. But he values Battam. Even though his current cognition is so muddled that he struggles to understand Battam even on a simple level. Uhm........ thank you for coming to my TED Talk iampassionateaboutthesebabbs
