I hear you about the kiss but it is one of the like word for word, from the book scenes and i will say i was really glad they kept it. However, they played it way more sadly than in the book because of the context of when it happens. In the books, she is 28 and fully a spinster 10 years or so since debut. Plus, we have colin’s internal monologue in the scene so we know how much he wants to kiss her before pen even asks lol. And he is the one who makes her think of it because he says something about how she would be ruined if he said he kissed her even if he hadn’t. Hard to do in a show though without a voiceover. haha
