In 2016 (9 years ago holy shit), I made a short game called Diamond Rose for the same game jam. This morning, I had the burning desire to continue said game with a small follow up story. And guess what the craziest thing is? I managed to rope in the original writer for the game. So it's the same two-man team, the same game project, the same game jam, 9 years later. It's wild and I'm super excited ^^
Why? I got really burnt out trying to draw Rhea. It's a lame and stupid excuse, but I don't know what happened to me. I just didn't like the stuff I drew for Rhea (apart from the ones I posted) and I got stuck banging my head against the wall trying to draw her.
I need to do something else and this project should take my mind away from my failures. Here's what I have planned for March:
Diamond Rose 2 (the Nanoreno jam project, it will have no lewds, but maybe some Ecchi, I'll try to add a recap for those who didn't/don't want to re-read the first game)
FEH Collection (progress is slow but steady, more Loki goodness awaits!)
Unicorn Overlord fanart (Today, March 8, is the game's anniversary, but I literally spent all day organizing my notes for nanoreno, so the UO fanart will come later)
I know that some of you are shaking your head, wondering what in the world I'm doing (Yes, I'm starting the game jam 1 week late. I know I'm growing dumber and dumber lol)
Anyway, please feel free to adjust your membership and/or shout at me in the comments, it's all good. I just need to do this for myself.

I really love this Rhea Sothis drawing though ^^
I wanted to do a version 2 with a grown up Rhea and child Sothis but again, I can't seem to feel happy with my drawing.

Good to hear dude! Just remember, take it easy and try not to overfocus, but also don't focus on too many variables. One thing at a time. Keep up the good work! And yeah, sure. I just DM'd you some links. Hope you like them!

I was trying to draw her in elegant and some admittedly bombastic scenarios (in a good way) I think I set my standards too high for Rhea and just struggled to reach my own expectations. You're right though, I just need to give it time and I'm sure inspiration will return (as it did many times before :D) Feel free to send me links through DM, probably best to avoid links in public.

Second, glad to see you've kept yourself active, even if not in here. Really looking forward to seeing your project if you decide to share it here. Pretty wild that you even managed to nab the OG writer for it, don't understimate a man and his vision. Sorry to hear you got burnt out on Rhea, but trust me, it's a pretty normal reaction, not lame at all. Most of us suffer a mental block every now and then, especially when we've dedicated so much time to a character in the past couple of years. Sounds like you have given your Rhea art so much thought that your mind just won't allow you to be satisfied with anything you draw for her. It's a standard reaction to when you spent so much time thinking about one thing in particular. Maybe putting your bigger focus on something else for a while will help you get rid of that block. Just take it easy man, inspiration comes naturally with time (and if you'd like, I could share some Rhealeth comms. I've made over the past few years to help you satiate your Rhea art needs, or even help you think of some new ideas if you want). (Out of curiosity, what were the ideas you were trying to draw for her? Totally fine if you'd rather not tell, though)
