Hit the ground runnin'

... or, well, maybe rolling. 😆

I'm back home! And although I'm still in my vacation free time, I did sneak a little bit of writing this morning because I have nothing scheduled for today and well, I missed doing it. And glad I am that I did because I loved it!

It just felt... good to be back on the keyboard and write for the sake of writing alone. Building sentences, constructing atmospheres, creating dialogue — it's all kinda like a puzzle that you need to piece together and hope that the grand picture is one worth looking at. Sometimes, when you're in your head too much, you forget to actually enjoy the process of picking each piece, of stopping and contemplating, and taking your time. You even forget to savor the small, feeble pleasure that comes when you manage to connect two pieces together.

So, while brief, this is what I spent doing in this writing session: enjoying putting sentences together, slowly but surely building a story from each word.

Tomorrow will be full of dull but important errands, and the day after that, family starts trickling in — which means a bunch of trips to the airport. 😅 But today was a very good morning. I hope August has been treating you well!

Enjoy the long afternoons and the warm evenings. I'll probably be sneaking in some more writing this upcoming fortnight (scribbling in my notebook that I take everywhere I go) but, like the lazy hours of twilight, I will do so with a relaxed hand and half-lid eyes and thoughts made of smoke that blow whichever way the breeze happens to be going.
