Very fun episode and only increases my interest in getting the full-on Talking Simpsons episode of this down the line. I had a GREAT TIME with the movie in theatres in 2007, and sat on fond memories for the next ten years, but didn't watch it again until the Monday Night Movie stream Hank was on for the tenth anniversary. I still liked it more than I disliked it then, but the stuff of not trusting the audience/fans really bothered me more than it did back then. -- Also, it is straight FUCKED UP and awful that Bill and Josh didn't work on the movie. I can only dream about how much better it would have been with their involvement, let alone if they had ended up as the architects of it while Al Jean still juggled the show itself. Obviously they probably wouldn't have been interested in that much responsibility on it at the point in time the film was developed, but boy would it have been awesome.

The film is a mixed bag but give credit where credit is due: Julie's performance in Marge's videotaped monologue to Homer was heartbreaking. Apparently the directors had her do take after take to get it right and she just sounds so completley exhausted with everything, a perfect reflection of a spouse who has simply had enough of a toxic relationship and just wants out.
