The Royal Bath of Bastet

So, this was the first go at the previously posted suggestion which, as I mentioned, kind of took on a life of its own. I wanted to do a sketch of the royal baths from the royal palace in House Bastet's capitol city of Septa. Even though it's big enough to swim in it's not exactly a swimming pool though, and it's unlikely that the duchess would wear a swimsuit in there unless she was doing a photo shoot, or she was having guests over whom she didn't know that intimately or would otherwise be inappropriate or uncomfortable to share peltship with.

The royal bath was built at the peak of Per Bast's wealth and opulence as part of the royal family's palace residence, predating the birth of even Princess Bastet herself. More than simply a place to wash and relax, it was built to be a self-contained retreat for the royalty without having to leave the palace. The basalt statue of Princess Bastet that adorns the center of the bathtub was a later addition-- it's rumored that it was originally commissioned by the princess herself as a gift that never made it to its recipient, and spent a century in storage before it became the centerpiece of the room which Bastet once enjoyed so many of her hours in.
