2017-09-25 17:20:56 +0000 UTCI realised something during this episode, in that I'm starting to identify more with the parents than the kids. I probably last watched this episode about ten years ago and in those ten years I've got married and had two kids (a boy and a girl two year apart). While I don't identify with jerk-ass Homer and I'm not really a sports fan, it was the scene where Bart and Lisa are fighting and the parents are down stairs. Where as before I would think of the scene from the kids view (with me and my brother), now I can only see it from the parents view of hearing a commotion and the going up to deal with it. You mentioned this was written by Mike Scully, who had a young family at he time, I'm kind of looking forward to more of his episodes to see if I pick up more parent related experiences.
