I don't know if you've answered this before but how do you think you'll pick between the originals and taylor's versions when you get to the older albums? For example, I think it's best to listen to the original red album along with the vault tracks when you get to it. I didn't know if you were going to do polls or something.

She played it as a secret song on the last night of the Eras tour last year and changed “it was the end of a decade, but the start of an age” to “it was the end of an ERA, but the start of an age” - talk about tears!!! It’s the Swiftie anthem 🫶 Taylor is really a special artist, the range of her discography is mind blowing. Taylor’s gift is her “Melodism” (she prioritizes melodies in her art) combined with brilliant lyricism, doesn’t matter if it’s country, indie, folk, industrial pop, dream pop, etc. She just has this gift to touch people’s hearts with her beautiful melodies.

Some albums have almost all bangers for me and some albums have just a handful. It varies for everyone. Some hard core fans try to make it seem that you have to love every song from every album and that if you say you don't like one of her songs they get all hissy. ugh. But, most fans aren't like that. There are some of her popish songs that I like, but can get tired of after a while. That may seem too repetitive. Regardless of all of that, it's her live performances that make even the songs I don't love more enjoyable. I love how she does mashups and tweaks songs for the live performances. She's so talented with that.

The live performance of Don't Blame Me literally stops you in your tracks, it's an "oh shit" moment of realization that THIS is what has every Swiftie so hooked. I think this is why Reputation is always recommended as the starting point for every Taylor deep dive. It quite literally shuts down the "she can't sing", "she can't dance" hate in spectacular glittering fashion.

2025-07-31 17:10:44 +0000 UTCsometimes i get so shocked when you don’t recognize some of her biggest hits ever lol 😭 just ‘cause they are sooo big in general but anyway i do like the idea of doing Lover into Midnights then going through the first five albums before TTPD ends it with all the other stuff each era involves!! every album is legitimately so good even if some might not be entirely your taste i hope and believe you will still enjoy most of it! and some people find that a lot really grow over time too, either way just excited for more 🫶

I’ve always been an indie rock/alt rock girly, but Taylor is the exception because even some of her most “annoying” bubblegum pop songs have some level of depth that the surface level listener wouldn’t understand or care to learn about. So 1989 and Lover are probably my two least fave albums sonically of hers because rarely am I in the mood for pop pop! ALSO 13 is her lucky number, so she does everything by 13s… which is fantastic for me because 13 has always been my lucky number so we’re basically the same person ya know 💁🏻♀️
