Entertainment Tonight used my video for the Nashvlle show with Tim McGraw/Faith Hill because they were a trainwreck and I held her hand at the Louisville show. She's so soft and somehow even more beautiful in person. BEST DAMN SUMMER OF MY LIFE lol. I can't believe Netflix removed the concert.

I have a long ridiculous story that begins with falling in love with a song, falling in love with a college, getting conjunctivitis, winning a radio contest, being advised by a doctor *over the phone* (who was covering for my regular doctor) that suuuuuure by now it would be safe to go back to wearing my contacts (to a movie world premiere), scratching my corneas, fucking up my vision for months while they healed, and having to drop TWO AP classes because I could barely read! (I swear that's the short version of the story!) Moral of the story, forget mascara. Take care of your eyes. You should probably consider replacing any eye makeup you were using at the time you infection started too just to be safe. I know makeup is expensive, and that sucks, but you really don't want to reinfect yourself with your mascara. Honestly Honey, You're already rocking that natural youthful glow the rest of us are trying to achieve with 34 products anyway. You're not naked, you're just natural. I promise all of us with older pores just look at your happy young skin and sigh. You already got it all goin on. Trust.

So here's a few things to know/notice: 1. The voices of the horrible media people you hear in the intro were all real critics & media assholes. Taylor invited all those featured haters to the show and gave them comped front row seats to their comeuppance. 2. The Dancer & Band Intro: At some point in every show I've ever seen footage of, Taylor finds time & a way to highlight the rest of the people who put their talent, training, sweat, & commitment into making the show what it is. It's not always at the same part of the show, but she always does it. She wants everyone to get their flowers and be recognized. I think it was especially important to her to highlight her band, dancers, & backing vocalists at the Rep tour because this really was a comeback spectacle after being canceled for over a year and learning very painfullt who her real fried were. 3. The mash-up of hits from prior albums during cast intros: Taylor loves her hidden messages and I think that playing these songs in particular wasn't just fan-service, it was a love letter to everone assembled and the fans most of all. The theme is in the lyrics of Style "We never go out of style", Love Story, "This love is difficult, but it's real" and You belong with me. (The name says it all. This band and cast and the Rep audience were (along with her parents & brother, a few proven friends, & Joe) were Taylor's chosen family. These people proved to be her hate-train-be-damned, fuck-the-media, fuck-cancel-culture, out-and-proud, ride-or-die defense, offense, and screaming cheerleaders. And Taylor's songs say, "This is destiny. Through shit & shimmer, we belong to each other." It wasn't just any medly. It was a pledge of loyalty and love. 4. The Giant Cobra is inflatable. Her name is Karyn. She makes Taylor deliriously happy. Taylor can be found on Web searches (possibly on YouTube) talking about what Karyn means to her. 5. What the crowd shouts in the beginning of Delicate is "1-2-3-Let's Go Bitch!" It started as one brilliant moment by one Swiftie and went viral. It's cannon now. Taylor doesn't say it, but she started counting at that part with her fingers in later shows. Now you're in the club. There are lots of Tour Traditions. I don't know them all. The suggestion to open the subject in chat was inspired! 6. The sky cage transportation. It's not unique to Taylor, but she does a lot of unconventional traveling around her performance spaces & she's done the sky-ride before. She Loves getting in amongst the crowd and making everyone feel included. (Bracelets of one kind and another become a big part of that). Even in huge venues, she likes to move to intimate spaces for parts of the show. This is a pop-star who literally invites fans to her homes & drops in on them for visits. She's had to be more security and privacy conscious (esp since the Rep/Joe/Trump eras- all for different reasons), but she's absolutely grown up as a star with a reciprocal parasocial relationship with her fans. 7. Omg yes! The Embroidered Green Rep Tour Jacket. Clever Girl! I knew you'd clock it! Isn't it one of the most gorgeous bad-ass immaculately glorious things you've ever seen??!! I love my husband. He's pretty hot. but omg I lust for that jacket and the prison orange satin thigh high boots from the LWYMMD music video. (At least I could walk in that jacket without killing myself if I got one in my size!) Still, I'm tickled you think the jacket is fire too. 8. Hold on to your seat. The ride is so far from over & the beginning of another Magical Swiftie Side Quest is about to begin right away. This is so much fun! You're catching so much! I'm so proud! 🥰

2025-07-30 19:47:13 +0000 UTCkamilah, jeslyn, elliotte, and melanie were her backing vocalists here (they call themselves the starlights) and still are her backing vocalists. the guy playing bass is amos, lead guitar is paul, and they've been around since her first albums. they are treated like family - melanie has gone to Chiefs games with taylor - kamilah writes taylor a poem for her birthday each year - and taylor pays them, provides health insurance for them, and gives very generous bonuses to everyone on tour. the u.s. leg of the eras tour saw each truck driver who moved the stage and tour stuff around the country get 100K bonus checks on the last day in L.A. i think there were 50 truck drivers. rep tour is visually stunning, but you haven't seen anything yet. the eras tour will blow your mind. taylor always has transition music for each costume change, dancers performing, visuals on the screen. not one second is down time for the audiences. and you will fall in love with the eras tour dancers and know them all by name. they are her family on the road and they are excited to be there every night. they are having so much fun and seeing the world

There's a lot of concert lore that has grown over the years. Things the audience does for certain songs that have just evolved. Like the "1,2,2 Let's go bitch!". So, if you're a well versed fan going to a concert, you'll know, but if you're not there can be a lot of confusion. Taylor always has songs from previous eras at her concerts. Seems like you've already heard stuff from her early years, but maybe not her 1989 album. I'm going to be pretty interested in what you think when you get to that album. Don't be afraid to be totally honest with us. Some may not like it, but many totally understand and appreciate that some of Taylors albums won't resonate with everyone. Taylor in pretty much in charge of the production elements for her tours. She doesn't want there to be a section of down time between set and costume changes. So she'll always have something going on. You've seen some of that already, with extended music and dancing of some songs after she's left, or a video on the main screen. And then Taylor doing her acoustic set and being all by herself, while everyone else gets a break and gets ready for the next parts. And she treats her crew, band, dancers and backup singers really well. They're all like family and she cares about them. She appreciates that they are as much responsible for putting on the concerts as she is. She gets a lot of loyalty from all of them too. And they do have fun.

See, now I'm excited for you to hear 1989, since you will 100% recognize a bunch of songs on it 🙂 I went to the Eras Tour and I can confirm, at god damn 63 years old with dozens of shows in my past - some of them iconic - that it was the most fun I've ever had at a show. She’d played stadiums starting with her 1st headlining tour (Fearless) but it also had arenas (smaller venues) During Delicate, the crowd yells “1, 2, 3 Let’s Go Bitch!” It started because someone went viral for screaming that, the fans started doing it afterwards and Taylor loved and incorporated it at future stops on the tour 😛 Taylor is EXCELLENT at crowd work, she’s always has been. One of the biggest parts of her success is she tries to connect with as many fans as possible. Besides interacting online, having listening parties at her houses for fans before the albums drop (“secret sessions”), pre and post parties for fans at each show on her tours, Swiftmas where she would stalk fans online and send them personalized gifts. She’s just really really good at showing her fans that she appreciates them. This was especially poignant during Reputation when SO many people were saying her career was dead, her tour would be a flop, etc. She wanted to thank the fans who stood by her during the 2016 online cancellation, Kayne/Kim bullshit. The mashup of Style / Love Story / You Belong With Me are big hits from her 1989 and 2008 Fearless album. She always incorporates her previous hits on her tours. She wrote Love Story in about 20 minutes (🤯) when she was around 15/16 yrs old when her parents told her she couldn’t date some guy. She felt like Juliet being told she couldn’t be with the boy she liked but she wanted to give it a happier ending than the traditional Romeo & Juliet story 🫶 3. The huge snake is named Karyn (all the snakes have “K” names b/c of all the Kayne/Kim bullshit that led to this album. 4. You’ll see many of these band members & dancers on future tours, they do want to be with her b/c she treats them very well (shoutouts, bonuses, healthcare, etc). 5. You should go as TS for Halloween! You’d be perfect. I love that beautiful top btw 🫶 I’m sure I’ll be back to comment more 😉
