[ animal drawing ] Axolotl
Added 2022-09-24 13:14:05 +0000 UTCI draw axolotl a lot these days because Axolotl kiki character of my doodle account.
So In this post, axolotl is an animal that I have drawn quite a bit and know to some extent, so I focused on the process of characterizing them rather than practicing drawing.
Amphibians are also winning the sticker vote this time, so I'm thinking of drawing axolotl and some of their morphs. Originally, I was thinking of drawing a salamander and including axolotl in it, but I changed mind...
Actual axolotl is pretty long. long tail and thin legs.
I've never thought of them as scary, but quite a few of my friends are scared of axolotl 😮 According to a friend, their expressions and external gills, transparent belly are scary💦 Exactly what I felt attractive about them 😂
In the case of kiki, a lot has designs been characterized.
When I draw something new, I think about how much I want to characterize it.
They look similar, but slightly different. I liked the middle one the most.
The one on the left feels more like a real animal.
The one on the right seems too simple.
If the texture is added in the coloring stage, the feel will be a little different now.
The way they fold their outer gills and arms as they swim is cute, but I don't think it can be expressed well with a static picture. I'm thinking of making an animated sticker pack for axolotl kiki later, and I'll probably be able to express it there..
