>is that allowed? I know its kinda looked down upon to trace over work, though that reputation is mostly from people tracing over other peoples work and passing it off as their own. in this case, its my own renders and scene I set up, and its not to show off my car drawing skills, but used to tell a story. I could draw a car every panel by hand, I am an environment and scenery artist at heart and for one off pieces I hand draw the environment (see cover page of this comic). but that would take hours in measured construction alone for the panels with a cars in it, let alone the consistency errors that would pop up. cars are rather precise objects. nah I see this as using every tool in the belt. (like 3d animation using 3d and tools to insert lineart combined to make a 2d animation. see: paperman or klaus) I'm a graduated 3d visual artist, I'm rusty but I can set up a scene, and it massively improves the speed and removes the tedium, so I can actually tell my stories. in the end, its akin to skipping the sketch phase, lineart is tracing over your own sketches after all, and I still do all the coloring X)

Backgrounds are getting better this looks really nioce

Nice car choice, looks like a mid 2000's Toyota Camry! Comfy, reliable, and economical :3 Amazing work as always, very excited for this one, two of my favorite characters being spicy bois!!

cuddlesnfurs

I'm hoping for a pit stop or even better hang it out the window.....pissing in the wind

Mr,halloween(matt)

If that was your method, I admire it! The end result looks great!

Sam

Epic!

Jonathan

Such a great vibe~ :D

I love the little tail holding that they are doing. Glad to see more of your work!

Snowstorm05

wait that's allowed?! I've been doing 3d modeling so long and have no knack for my own hand-drawn artistry... this might be enough to get me into art. I've never been happy with my finished 3D scenes but maybe I can just trace them! give them a funky look :3

Another absolute banger from my favorite artist. Your attention to detail is beautiful

Sunflowerwitch

I don't mean to trick XD I use 3D models for background ref for speed and consistency. I just draw over the renders I produced

Funkybun

Sorta correct, I base it off of my vacations to Switzerland, so early 2000s, but all y'all don't know how extremely useful paper maps are that are designed for vacations. Showing off all points of interests, campings, services. Google has become atrotious if you actually want to filter for those things XD

Funkybun

He do be sitting on his tail, also yeah I use and make 3d models for scenery that I then render and draw over. I am a 3d artist, but I didn't feel like spending another 2 months making a car like I did at school, so instead I bought this model and populated it with some simple geometry to use as ref for the comic X)

Funkybun

The details on the car are so well done.

Sam

I love them so much 🥹

Also also also, does this take place in the late 1990's? Who uses paper maps anymore, lol. And now I'm curious if they're going to a real place or not, anyone recognize that geography?

jayjaydeth

... You know, chairs and seats are probably super uncomfortable for anthros with large tails. Just a random thought. Also, that's a super clean looking vehicle. Was that all free hand or did you trace or just put some filters on a real image for the sake of simplicity? Also also, love the small detail of the pride dongle attached to the key in the ignition.

jayjaydeth

It begins 👏

CurlyQueue

Aww, holding tails

Brittany Huckey

Looking forward to seeing just how hot it gets in that car 🥵

Sean Frisbey

Wooo!! :3
