Vehicle Sensing in the Streets
Added 2020-09-15 00:32:13 +0000 UTC
Here's a new video... after a long delay! Thanks for sticking around!
Did you know Car Traffic Sensors Exist?! Well then step on them! I always get annoyed by people not knowing about them, not stopping on them and delay the traffic light!! I guess I'm sensitive that way!!!
Also this time you might win a scope or fancy power supply! Make sure to register for Keysight University to get into the draw if you haven't already: https://learn.keysight.com/page/electroboom
Regarding the drawing... this post has been posted on September 14th but the conditions of the drawing on Keysight website say that the last drawing is September 1st 2020

Hey Medhi. Could you please help me to get my bike to set off these sensors? Sometimes I am stuck in the turn lane with a switch like this for quite a while!

I did not believe you could be even better than you already were but you proved me wrong. You have comedy in yourself like only few people do. Thank you for creating great content!

Great video Mehdi really made me chuckle! Looks like your video was after the promotion from keysight unfortunately!
"Two random drawings will be conducted by Keysight no later than August 11, 2020 and September 5, 2020 at Keysight Technologies, 1900 Garden of the Gods Rd. Colorado Springs, CO 80907, USA to select five potential winners (3 potential winners on August 7, 2020 and 2 potential winners on September 1, 2020) from among all eligible entries received during the respective Promotion Period."

As the incoming supply is rectified, you could probably use 18 x 9V batteries in series (=162v DC, approx. the rectified AC voltage, i.e. 115V x 1.41), which would give a clean power source.

Hm. The Keysight University website says "We will draw three winners on August 7" - which was a few weeks ago?

your car itself causes the light to change! neodymium alone wouldn't change anything

Love it!!! Crazy Mehdi is the best! Seriously though, this is an interesting insight on these loops. Is there any truth that placing neodymium magnets under your car will cause the light to change???

Have been a viewer for a long time, this is probably the funniest video you've ever made. Really, I was laughing a lot, the information was good, and it was "classic electroboom." Use this video as a template forever, it's a winner!

OMG. That person who sits to far back at the traffic lights and wonders why the light havenβt changed in 3 cycles.

Speaking of the TPMS system, most cars I've seen with this feature don't tell you WHICH TIRE has lost diameter -- just that one of them has. I find this rather annoying, since the odds of more than one springing a leak at the same time are pretty slim. How about an app that can report which tire it is? And I would think the DEGREE of change is quantified, rather than the sensor just reporting that it reached some internal delta.

2nd!
2020-09-15 01:34:53 +0000 UTC
You should do some experiments with tracking cars with the TPMS (Tire Pressure Measurement systems) transmitters.. EVERY modern tire is transmitting a serial number which can be tracked, and the current tire pressure... I've been thinking of making a driveway car sensor/identifier using these and a SDR dongle.. Start to track/recognize the serial numbers and you'll know if it's the mailman coming in, or your neighbor..
