Great idea, I'd love to have it, and even with extensive usage of the ue4 colission system it might be possible... But we currently don't plan to do it really, plus animations are not intended for that anyway, so there wouldn't be flailing around like in Shadow of the Colossus, which might make it look to stiff and unnatural.

It uses the UE4 engine system of "base actor", basically an object reference that gets registered in the character's movement component as its base, and then it moves and rotates alongside it. Originally It works for walking mode only, since there is no climbing by default.
