December update

Thank you so much for supporting the project this month! 

Don't forget to send me your text messages, images, and bodypart/statue ideas, so I can add them to the list of rewards to implement in the game!  

I'm currently busy on the new movement system that  will support Hizathri and many other species... 

The one we have right now was done for the 2.5D variant after all, but because we switched to full 3D, even this part became more demanding - the full third person game needs very responsive controls with decent animations happening (like turn in place, transitioning into runs, sudden stopping). 

However if animations are too long they might make controls feel "unresponsive" because they'd take away the freedom of movement, and on the other end, if it doesn't have such animations - it just look ugly and unrealistic, without the feel of momentum. 

So, what can I say, that's a very tricky balance to achieve. I'm playing with a simple dummy character to make the movement feel right and natural first, then make pretty animations and characters later.

New "proper" video is coming out soon,  for now I put a very quick vlog-kind of thing up there ^^

The new animation program im trying out is called Akeytsu, it has a very big potential, but it's in early access, thus it's in a familiar situation, just like our projects... But things change over time, so I'm waiting patiently, and hope I can use it to make animations for the game :}
