Status on v0.2.3 and new TF event

Hello cadets!

Work on v0.2.3 is ongoing and we are very proud of what we have accomplished thus far. Although we planned for this update to be completed for mid-february, we expect we will need at least two more weeks to complete it.

One of the main reasons for this delay is this version introduces significant changes to the game and content which was planned for future versions, which we will detail below.

Character creation

Character creation has been completely revamped. Static avatars have been replaced with the first iteration of a dynamic paperdoll which will allow you to start customizing your character for your journey at Starwatch Academy.

In this first iteration, we have focused on the most essential aspects such as skin types, eye color, hair color and the academy uniform. As content grows, we will regularly add more options, including new clothes for shopping sprees :) 

Story and our first transformation event

In the existing content, we gave some context to how transformations work in the Starwatch universe with the Perfection mod and the visit to the mod-clinic.

Although it was initially planned for v0.2.4, we have decided to include our first TF event in v0.2.3. This event will be accessible if you are on good terms with Curie (Friendly affinity in the codex) and will begin with Curie showing up to your apartment wearing what is definitely not her standard uniform.

This event is very important to us as it is a way to show you what our plans are for these scenes and the game as a whole. It will feature original artwork to add visual context to the scenes and will also allow you to see how transformative mods can affect the paperdoll.

UI Updates are close to completion

We started the transition to our new UI in v0.2 and expected it would take a while to transfer all existing content. Along with the new features, we have been able to make significant progress on this task and the entirety of the game has now been ported to the new UI. Further updates for mobile devices have also been implemented.

You will also notice your paperdoll now appears in the sidebar, with a new zoom option in the toolbar below it to be able to switch between a full or portrait only view of the character.

Flaxede has also been hard at work and we have replaced a significant chunk of the AI generated character avatars with original artwork.
