GTS Summoner Ch 8: A Strange Connection, A Vow To Kill!
Added 2025-03-06 15:42:53 +0000 UTCI couldn't breathe.
Her fingers tightened around me like a living cage, each one thicker than my entire body, squeezing the air from my lungs. My ribs groaned under the pressure, and for the first time today—hell, probably ever—I genuinely thought, Yep, this is how I die. Crushed like a stress ball by a giant medieval murder machine.

Her massive crimson eyes bore into me, unblinking and eerily focused. She had already promised to kill me, and I had the distinct feeling she wasn't joking.

"Dammit, let me go!" I shouted, trying to pry her fingers apart.
Yeah, like that was gonna work. My arms were about as useful as wet noodles against her iron grip.
But then—something weird happened.
Her grip loosened.
Not much, but enough that I could actually suck in a breath without feeling like my lungs were being flattened into pancakes.
I looked up at her, confused, and what I saw nearly made my heart stop.

Her face—her massive, terrifying, inhumanly beautiful face—was red.
Not in anger.
In... embarrassment?
Her breath came faster, her chest rising and falling as if she'd just run a marathon. Her crimson eyes weren't as sharp as before—they were half-lidded, unfocused.
Her whole body trembled.

And then, just like that, her legs buckled.
The boom of her knees slamming into the ground sent a shockwave through the street, nearly knocking me out of her palm. The giantess let out a strangled breath before her fingers finally released me, letting me drop unceremoniously onto the pavement.
I groaned, rolling onto my back, and sucked in as much air as my aching ribs would allow.
That was way too close.
Above me, the giantess slumped against a nearby building, her massive body pressing into it with enough force that deep cracks split through its structure.
Then the cracks widened.
Then, with a deafening crunch, the whole damn thing collapsed.
Her body crashed into the rubble, sending plumes of dust and debris into the air, shaking the ground with the force of an earthquake.
I scrambled backward, my heart hammering in my chest as I watched her lie there, her breathing ragged, her muscles twitching like she was barely holding herself together.
Her glowing eyes flickered toward me.
"What... what is happening to me?" she boomed, her voice weaker than before, but still powerful enough to rattle my bones.
I blinked. "You—uh—you're asking me?"
She let out a frustrated growl, her massive hand clenching into a fist. "It's you," she muttered, her voice laced with strained fury. "This... this is your doing."
I laughed dryly, still trying to keep my shaking legs from giving out. "Lady, I have no idea what you're talking about."
She didn't seem to hear me. Her gaze darkened with realization—or maybe just more rage.
"I have to kill you," she mumbled, gripping the hilt of her sword.

Oh, great. Back to this again.
With a deep breath, she forced herself upright, using her sword like a cane to support her weight. Even though she was clearly struggling, she still towered over me like a walking apocalypse, her crimson gaze locked onto me like a predator that refused to let its prey escape.
I did the only logical thing a sane man would do in this situation.
I grabbed my sister and ran for my life.
Behind me, the air shrieked as her sword swung down.
I barely had time to throw myself sideways before the ground behind me erupted, a deep trench splitting through the asphalt like butter. The force alone sent me tumbling, nearly making me drop my sister, but I gritted my teeth and forced myself back up.
I didn't stop running.
Didn't stop, even as another whoosh of air signaled another swing, barely missing me by inches.
Didn't stop, even as debris rained down around me, the city splitting apart in the wake of her blind, furious attacks.
Why the hell was she so angry at me?!
I ducked behind a half-destroyed car, my chest heaving as I clutched my unconscious sister to my chest.
The ground shook as she stomped toward me, her glowing red eyes scanning the destruction.
"Why... won't you... die?" she murmured, her voice breathless.

I let out a short, hysterical laugh. "I'd love to, but I've got other plans today."
Her grip on her sword tightened, but I could see it now—her whole body was shaking. Whatever was happening to her, it was getting worse.
And for the first time, I felt something other than sheer terror when I looked at her.
I felt curious.
Because whatever was happening to her—whatever weird connection she thought we had—wasn't just some random coincidence.
And I had a feeling that if I didn't figure it out soon, I was going to end up very, very dead.
